A lot of these reports seem to be from guys soloing clubs? Not used to going to a club alone, is that commonplace in Medellin?

For me I always check my health by sitting down and looking at my belly. If I can see the contours of the muscles in the abdomen then I am good. If you sit on a chair legs 90 degrees and look at your belly and it is just a straight line or in worst case a convex surface then you should reconsider your habits. Everybody has a six pack if the do not carry excessive amounts of fat over it. 2 months ago I stopped eating everything that has added sugar and all fried things, did not change anything with my exercise, many a huge difference.

Anyway we met today in the elevator at nutibara. I was going up you were going down. I have shaved head and look easter european. Your pants and hair really give you away.

One thing that nutibara has over Dorado La 70 and Vivre is really good ventilation. It does not feel like artificial airconditioning, is more like a breeze weeping the room. And when you set a certain temp is gets there quickly. Also the amount of light that gets into the rooms is nice. Really enjoy the rooms. The wifi is connection is terrible though, speedwise it is actually good. I get 19 Mb/s when doing a test. Osteknot I remember you mentioned wifi extender in another thread. Beds are my opinion good. My conclusion when I looked into hotels in Medellin is that for the money you pay at Nutibara you can not get any better. If someone has another opinion please enlighten me. Yes the hotel has seen it's best days long ago and everything is run down and clearly needs a renovation but it still has it's charm. The height of the roof inside the rooms does a big difference also. You can say the rooms are very "airy". Hard to beat the location also. I do not think is is very noisy as someone mentioned. Very nice staff.

Keep up the strong work and say hey if you see me again or I will try to do the same. I share your sentiments about "The Nutti" and I definitely need and use a WiFi Hotspot while here.

You really don't need a whole lot of Spanish for this. You just use the basics and the phrase of "cuantos quieres por un rato?" which is "how much do you want for a while?" She'll answer anywhere from 20-50. The room will be anywhere from 8-15. From there it can be as easy as pay for the room, bang, pay her. The other key phrase is "pago despues, siempre" which is "I pay later, always. " The general risk of a SW is much higher of course, in many ways. If you just go with the flow, and just when it feels wrong, you should be okay.

And on a side note, it's pretty hard to get lost walking to La Plaza Minorista. It's a straight shot on Av. De Greiff, a 10 minute walk from the Museum, less than half a mile. Something I've done to get familiar is use Google Maps Street View to "walk" the route. I think I'm going to go there in the morning to get some things.

On a side note, Grill Nueva is the cheapest with the worst rooms, Conejitas is a tiny bit more but with much, much nicer rooms, and Barra Ejecutiva is much more expensive than I like (drinks, fee, bar fine, all add up to be way too much), with almost okay rooms. Ultimately it's about the talent present. I think it's a crap shoot really, but Barra Ejecutiva seems to have the best of the three. Oddly enough, I think the kickback to the women for their beer is exactly the same, 2 k. You'd think with how much more they charge for drinks at Barra Ejecutiva they'd kickback more.

The average American would do a lot better to eat the typical Colombian breakfast. I hope your cultural sensitivity goes beyond food. But yeah, the breakfast at the Dorado sucks. Breakfast in Medellin sucks. So far I have eaten in Nutibara, Dorado La 70 and Vivre. All breakfasts are equally bad and the latter 2 hotels are rated 4. 5 of 5 at google reviews. Those people that did the reviews must never have tried a breakfast in an European hotel. They will also complain if you go a second round to get more food. In Europe it is always buffet style. How much do I need to spend on a hotel in Medellin to get same quality breakfast as in Europe with buffet style? In Brazil the hotel breakfasts are much better then here and it is buffet style and that is hotel for half price of what I pay here.

By the way noone mentioned hotel Vivre in the thread so I did not know if it was girl friendly but they confirmed and they also accept Venezuelan ID cards.

Anybody have any tips for eating healthy in Medellin? Restaurants that have some decent choices you can order on Rappi? No I don't cook or meal prep either haha.

I love Lentijas Express. They're on Rappi. Mundo Verde too. I hit the salad bar at Crapes & Waffles regularly. Not sure if that's available online.

Hacienda doesn't serve breakfast. They offer good quality mid market renditions of basic Colombian dishes of rice, beans, pork, and overcooked seafood. I rate them 1/2 point above Hato Viejo. They cater to tourists and out of towner Colombians. Few residents of Centro can afford it except as a special occasion splurge. Besides the food, the biggest advantage over Versalles is the floors are swept and mopped.

Service is dreadful too. The cashier wouldn't even split a bill for us when I went. Wouln't tell us the price of any individual item on the bill, just a total. WTF?

Across the road is the Hacienda. Much better service, interior and food.

Another report after you incl many others from well travelled mongers say Medellin is one of the top destinations right now, and I agree. Sorry to hear your trip ain't going well so far. But truth is Medellin can compete hard head to head with Brazil, you just have to know how to navigate the scene there as I can tell you're still new to this hobby or in Medellin.

First, I'm writing cause I'm a bit like you, at times I want nothing but BBBJ and BBFS, and for Medellin the best way of getting that is to go after non pros or semi pros as we call them. Sign up for SA, DC, or Tinter Gold, pay the $99 bucks or sub fee so don't be an el cheapo. Even if you're there for a week it's still worth it imo. Or if you habla a bit of espaol, just visit some of the malls there and test your pick up skills, and you'll see an entirely different set of girls. I've picked up at least 5 waitresses, others from grocery stores, as they walk by when I sit in restaurants in La 70, at the mall, clubs, normal girls are everywhere and best part is I usually pay those $0. 00, and full BBFS. From SA, DC, Tinder, 30-40% will still be hardcore pros or low key pros, but many will be new girls testing themselves, starting out or playing hookie part time for extra money while in school. Those are the ones you can manipulate easily to do what you want incl rawdogging like a horny wife on her honeymoon. FB was just as good back then, but not anymore really, they're mainly pros now on FB. With hundreds of guys asking for FB IDs and all targeting the same hunnies it was only a matter of time, especially if your friend list is small. Your response is valid, and helpful. I suspected SA and non pros are a better fit for me. I've also discovered the friendliness of normal girls as I visit stores and restaurants, and I'm fully bilingual so conversation is not a problem. As far as making love, I was being sarcastic, the term is loosely used here.

I'm actually used to meeting girls in Montréal and Brazil, working girls, that give proper service even after just meeting you. The key might be those are real professionals and not just a random Facebook girl trying to make a wage as a side job.
