You can be direct with very good results by telling them what you are looking for rather than asking them to volunteer that infomation.

This really is very good advice. The typically quick gringo conversation of "what time are we meeting this afternoon" in Colombia is "good afternoon, how are you, I'm well and how are you, how nice, what are you doing, I'm watching TV, oh are you busy, I wanted to know if we can meet."

Colombians don't do blunt and direct. While you can get to the meat of the conversation pretty quickly, you'll have more success if you take a slightly less direct approach. Ask how she is. Tell her she's beautiful. Tell her you want to get to know her. She's more likely to respond favorably if she feels like she'll enjoy spending time with you.

14th of July: Centro.

Zandaly: Arrived around 3 pm, 8 to 10 girls and 2 customers, quite dark but enough light to see the girls.

If I ever married a Colombian (which I have no intention of doing again), I sure as hell would NEVER bring her to the USA She would have to stay in Colombia, with me living their part-time. Once they get here, most of them either 1) find a better deal or 2) become more and more like a gringa and less and less like what they were when they were in their country.

Obvio this is a Global inflation crisis but for Colombia it's a 21 year all time hike; so I'm sure it's only a matter of time we'll see food, products, and likely chica pricing will have an increase.

"tu eres no tierno" which translates to "you are not tinder" -- I've gotten this one so many times. I'm not exactly sure what they mean by "tinder" but I feel they're saying I'm not a white knight.

"De igual forma no creo q sea necesario ser amable conmigo".

"me parece q eres una persona muy fria".

I've found a lot of them to be really needy and traditional, which doesn't mesh well with me because I can be super blunt and direct at times (without rambling too much, a stereotypical new yorker is a decent description of me).

I got that yesterday at a Davivienda, no bank charges. It's interesting the ATMs are lagging a full day behind the mid market rate.

I just hit the ATM this morning and go 4627 COP to the USD before the bank charges.

Today's a good day to hit the ATM's as it appears things have leveled out, at least for a few days.

Who knows where it's headed.
