I've never stayed at the San Peter. As has been mentioned previously, each unit is individually owned. This means the Internet service can vary from apartment to apartment. You should check with the owner of the unit where you will be staying. If all else fails, you can get a local SIM or hotspot from Claro or Tigo. They are reliable.

I think a hotspot might be a good idea as a backup regardless of where I decide to stay. I'll look into Claro and Tigo. Thanks.

Hi my friends. I have never been in Medellin, but heard good things from other forums about Medellin. I have a 12 day trip next month, but need to work most of the days during the day time. I am seeking advises on where / what hotels I should stay, where / how I can find girls (social media? Clubs? Etc.), safety, food / restaurants, how to overcome language barrier (I don't speak Spanish), etc.

I'd appreciate if there are some links and good posts for those in the past, and I'd try to read through previous posts also.

Can anyone tell me about the internet at San Peter? I'm planning a trip where I'll need to work a few days mid week. Will the Internet support Teams / Zoom? Is the internet dependent upon the unit you're in, or pretty much the same throughout? Anything else I might need to know about these apartments?

I stayed at San Peter my last trip for four days. It's not a hotel. All the units are individually owned and the Wi-Fi depends on the unit owner. The Wi-Fi in my Airbnb didn't work, but I was able to log on to the Wi-Fi of another unit on the floor owned by the same person. Strong enough for Zoom. Other than that, it was great. Nice apartment, centrally located, and chica-friendly, although it may be a bit noisy on the lower floors. Good Luck!

This is something we can agree on.

The exchange rate in the past month has risen from approximately 3900 COP to over 4500 COP which represents a 15 % increase, yet in the last month properties have not appreciated even close to that. So at this exact moment at the current exchange rate, buying a property make's sense, or at least bringing the money into the Country for a purchase which needs to be handled properly, however there can be a lot of pitfalls when buying property in Colombia.

Let's just say it's like the wild west, with at times properties being listed by multiple agents at different prices, and when a gringo comes along, they can easily get hosed.

Based on yesterday's close and the mid market live rate this morning it looks like the peso might have leveled off at about 4500. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Balcones de Cuba used to be at another location. The last time I was at their current location was 3 or 4 months ago and the same English speaking guy was directing traffic. The reception desk woman you mentioned makes me wonder if you might have been at the older location. It's always hit or miss at these places. The day I was there was a miss because I made the mistake of showing up at prime time so most of the ladies were busy.

Metrocable cameras, well, the last thing I have to say about that is it would be the only public transportation without them.

Visited Taberna Victoria. Smallest strip club I've been in here. Very dark inside. I would've chosen a different girl if it would be brighter. Damage 50 mil (I think) for 30 min. Definitely a contestant for a Golden Cockroach award in the Most Disgusting Room category (along with Nueva Avenida). This one didn't even have a lock and a girl had to move stack of chairs to block the way. One the plus side there was a telenovela on one of the screens which was somewhat entertaining and nice change from the porn (there was still porn on the other two screens).

I didn't understand most of it but got the gist there are no girls there. There was a man in there who was kind enough to give me directions to another place as I was leaving, which according to the hand gestures seemed to be Zandalay. I didn't understand 98% of what he was saying of course just nodded, thanked him and went on my way.

Visited Armonia again early afternoon. Line-up around 12 chicas, 4 to my tastes. Went with somewhat thicker Venezuelan with a cute face. I've developed a taste for dark skinned Vennies lately. Lady at the counter asked me two times to confirm whether that Vennie is indeed my choice, she seemed a bit surprised which made me then wonder what's wrong with the girl or if got the name right. Turns out that chica had a baby somewhat recently and so she wasn't tight at all.
