If I ever married a Colombian (which I have no intention of doing again), I sure as hell would NEVER bring her to the USA She would have to stay in Colombia, with me living their part-time. I just hit the ATM this morning and go 4627 COP to the USD before the bank charges.

You are not saying what you write to them in order to get responses as such. When in Rome you do as the Romans do. In other words, when you are traveling you adjust your habits to fit the place you are traveling to. You don't expect locals to fit into your way of doing things.
