If it was such a great business model then you would see more. The truth of the matter is that it is probably not worth the headache.

The location they are in, the property, is probably worth a lot more if it were developed for something else, so there is that possible motivation to sell. Plus the area is not zoned for sex related activities, and there are no other types of casas or massage places or such on Avenida Poblado or a block off as in this case. And there is a huge anti-sextourism push going on in Medellin, not just recently, but I think gaining steam as various hotels sign on to not allow any such activities. So perhaps this place gets targeted by those activists and then has to stay very low key. I know the fact that the pool area could be seen from surrounding buildings was an issue, and that has been restricted. Anyway.

Hi, are there any late evening / night casas around centro? I can only session after 6-7 pm but equally don't want to be the last customer when the girls are tired and prepping to go home. Thanks.

The casas action switches over to the strip clubs at that time. A similar number of women but the on-site rooms are much, much worse. Likely a little more expensive too. You could pretty much walk into one, do a lap to check out all the girls on the floor at the time, and make your selection from whomever catches your eye.

I have no first hand knowledge about this, though I will reach out to a few friends there today. But you make an excellent point.

Granted, it's one of a few hotels that would be very girl friendly. But that's about the only benefit. I suppose having a room above the bar would be a plus. But there's no real benefit there because I take the girls to a better hotel. And the girls prefer that.

To your point, it's unique in that is is a mongering hotel. It's also baffling that they would change the model because they're usually at 100% capacity.

But they've always had to battle some politics. Their neighbors are not fans of the place. And they have had their share of issues with the city, be it licensing or complaints.

All that said, why would you buy that place and then eliminate the number one draw? It's not like anyone goes there for a luxury room. And the location isn't horrible but it's not walking distance to anything a monger wants except for a few massage places in Rio Sur. That would be an odd purchase, in my opinion.

For what it's worth: the employees are not aware if it is being sold. They are telling me that they know something is going on. But, they also say there is always something rumored to be happening. It's fair to say they are worried but also not convinced it will be sold. I've talked to a few of the chicas and they are hearing a lot of rumors but nothing concrete.

For those planning a trip yet haven't made reservations, if it was me I would wait it out. Unless their policies have changed, you have to pay one night to hold the reservation. I wouldn't sink the $100, but that's just my opinion.

Being the only mongering focused hotel around, I wouldn't think that even new management would want to risk losing that status and business model.

I'm actually surprised that Medellin has not opened another establishment like Hotel M since it's such a great business model.

Excellent comparison. One significant distinction. At the mansion, the girls are independent and set their own prices, whereas Blackbeards is a set price. But I'm splitting hairs.

It is a great business model. The problem is it pushes legal boundaries. (That is one of the constant challenges for ownership.)

With that uncertainty of a roster, need to Uber, & the sound that the Hotel itself isn't high quality I'll likely pass on it.

In Cartagena I was able to knock off 50-150 K cop from club girls bc my place was 1 block away. Some initially assumed I was in Bocagrande Laguito 15-20 min drive away.

There is a certain level of stupidity that demands consequences whether you know it or not or like it or not. Example.
