I have the impression that some people on this site do everything to prevent new men from coming to Medellin or elsewhere in Colombia by making them believe that the country is extremely dangerous and that the girls will rob them, or kidnap them, or kill. In fact, I think above all that they are afraid, that they will no longer be able to enjoy the most beautiful women of Medellin all to themselves. I would be one of those MDE newcomers. It's either bag the Colombian girls in Costa Rica, Panama City or at the source in MDE. But my first trip to MDE would not be involved in bringing any girls to my room unless it's at the Hotel M (mansion) and it would be those from its pool / bar area. Other times like on day visits to New Life and Loutron, I would be utilizing their own rooms. Even for a night visit to La Isla I would elect to use one of their internal rooms too. I would use Uber / taxi for all transits. This might all seem super conservative but hopefully it reduces any safety issues. The only time I might consider a looser strategy is if I'm with a group of other fellow mongers I might meet down there. Again, it's this way or just go to Costa Rica or Panama City for the Colombians.

Speaking of casas, I popped into Aiffe earlier this week. I don't mean to be unkind but I must say they right now have one of the worst lineups I've seen in a long time in a Centro casa.

How would we confirm if any Airbnb listings have security on site?

If the Airbnb is in a condo building chances are there is security to allow people into the building. And some of the buildings have rules where the security people have to take information from non owners or non registered guests, such as looking at their ID. And confirming whether the host for that unit is ok with you bringing in visitors.

Anyway, if you see a unit that is in that type of building chances are it has security, but that does not mean it is totally safe as another post points out.

Airbnbs that are just independent apartments, or part of the hosts house, may not have any sort of security, but often do not allow guests especially if the host family is next door. The only way to know is to ask before you confirm your booking and pay.

They are just doormen, not really security to keep mongers safe. It still happened in hotels and buildings with security. The robbers don't think like you do, otherwise we would not see so many caught on videos.

Long time monger trying Medellin for the first time with another 65 year old friend. We've got a apartment up in Provenza with a jacuzzi for three nights (Monday / Tues / Wedn), and we both speak a fair amount of Spanish. Not super experienced, but I've had the best luck going to some of the local bars and getting the girls from there to head back and party at the Airbnb. Would only recommend if you have security (we have 2 armed guards at our Airbnb that checks all girls IDs and wouldn't let a few in).

Agency girls (in my experience) are more all business. You're on the clock as soon as they show up, so drinking or whatever for a hour or so will cost. Just felt more transactional. Getting a good little group from Park Lleras or another bar / club around had worked best for us.

But I do like having the agency's as I can set something up in 10 min max while laying in bed or on the toilet and can't beat that.

Lastly I never dove into the FB girls (just too much time and effort) but the last 20 or so pages of this thread are most filled with the risks of FB / dating site girls.

On the AirBnb listing look at the more info or reviews. If the property has a security guard one of those two places will usually mention it. Also look at the guest policy. If it states a generic "additional guests need to be confirmed with the host" etc then most likely can't bring anyone back. So avoid those places.

If anyone on the listing it states "bachelor party friendly" then you're usually good to go. But just message the host if needed and ask if local guests are allowed.

I've only stayed at Europa Suites which is on Calle 38 I think, a stones throw away from Lleras Park. The place is lavish. Super nice. 2 story penthouse with jacuzzi and 10 bedrooms, 2 of which also have jacuzzis on room. They do have separate rooms but almost 200 a night. But comes with jacuzzi in room and can't beat the location if you want to be near Lleares Park.

Have seen plenty on AibBnb for 100-130 a night.

Luna Lunera used to be my after work go to option back in my business traveler days. Like all the night time venues, they charge a bit more than the casas. Speaking of casas, I popped into Aiffe earlier this week. I don't mean to be unkind but I must say they right now have one of the worst lineups I've seen in a long time in a Centro casa.

The casas action switches over to the strip clubs at that time. A similar number of women but the on-site rooms are much, much worse. Likely a little more expensive too. You could pretty much walk into one, do a lap to check out all the girls on the floor at the time, and make your selection from whomever catches your eye.

Can you give the name of those airbnbs please? I'm looking to go back in Spring. I spoke with the hotel today and they confirmed that there will be no girls by the pool in the afternoons. So I'm looking for girls friendly airbnbs that is not too far from hotel m (I just like the area with casino and starbucks etc).

For what it's worth: the employees are not aware if it is being sold. They are telling me that they know something is going on. But, they also say there is always something rumored to be happening. It's fair to say they are worried but also not convinced it will be sold. I've talked to a few of the chicas and they are hearing a lot of rumors but nothing concrete.

For those planning a trip yet haven't made reservations, if it was me I would wait it out. Unless their policies have changed, you have to pay one night to hold the reservation. I wouldn't sink the $100, but that's just my opinion.

Few things first, thank you to all for the tips and whatnot. Have been to MDE twice, going again this year in May. You guys have helped so much with reports and whatnot. Thank you.

Any recommended outcall massage services? Found some previously on milerotics I think but was left unhappy. Last time some people staying close to us had some "massuses" come over that were amazing. Saw them leaving and couldn't get their info.
