So this one chica I've been chatting with on Facebook wants to go to San Pedro for the Semana Santa for the festival or whatever they have there. We seem to click, but her profile seems fake and I mean we know how this can go. She picks the spot, has some homies nearby and bam. I'm outside of Medellin and pennyless / phoneless. My question is, how could I do this with her while still protecting myself? I'm going to get to Medellin right around the beginning of that week, so we have time to meet up in safe locations and get to know each other better. My first mongering trip I made the mistake you're trying to make. There was a girl, she was hot, we seemed to really hit it off in the weeks before my trip. I was convinced to meet up with her and take her to another place for a few days. Fortunately, the night before I was supposed to meet her, I realized that I was in over my head. I didn't know the girl, I didn't know the country, I didn't even know the language. What were we going to do for 72 hours? What if we didn't hit it off in person? I've been reading the Cali forum and I'm attracted to visit there for the preponderance of dark skinned chicas, but I would be travelling only for 2 days (3 nights) and it's looking like $100 USD for flights, plus 4 airport taxis, which I can think of much better things to spend money on! Can you give a better definition of dark skinned?

Most of the girls in Medellin have dark skin, when compared to white girls from the Midwest. However, it's more of a medium tan than dark. There are black women, ranging from light skinned to very dark. If you're looking for exclusively very dark black women, you'll have to search a bit harder in Medellin, but you can find them.

Much more common are the mestizos, a mixture of white and indigenous people, with tan to dark tan skin.

Look I'm not an idiot. But I see in the posts people discussing money + taxi for negotiation. So how do you pay the taxi for someone arriving?

If the girl needs money to pay for the taxi, she will usually mention it when you're setting the date. Once she arrives, she'll message you to come down and pay. Just head down to the street, pay the driver and take her up to your room.

Best thing to do is negotiate a price which includes their transportation and let them figure it out.

Why is that way the best? Edumucate me. Did you intend to say, "This is the way I do it?" or is it really the best way and why? If I should change the way I do it, I will.

Best thing to do is negotiate a price which includes their transportation and let them figure it out. If you go with the "fee plus taxi" model, then I usually use one of three options:

1) I go down to meet her at the taxi and pay what's on the meter (if the meter is erased, I won't pay). I give her about the same when she leaves.

2) Send her home by Uber, which you pay for through your phone.

3) Have her use Driver and note the amount that she offers to the driver.

Once you have been in Medellin long enough, you'll have a good idea what it costs to bring girls to your place. Girls from Bello, Popular, Sabaneta, Itagui will cost more (depending on where you are) and girls coming from Belen, Aranjuez, Manrique, etc. Will cost you less.

This is classic risk versus reward. The easy and short answer would be "go for it!" and probably everything would work out fine. But your own awareness is warning you of the traps and pitfalls, or worse. Long story short, if this is your first trip to Medellin, you bit off more than you can chew. Aim a little lower, and you can still have the time of your life by just being here and discovering the Medellin Magic with your new friend.

80-90 percent of the residential population of the greater Medellin area do not have hot water. If you grew up without hot water your whole life, I bet a cold shower feels normal.

My chicas arrive, come to my room, ask for my taxi fare, and then go back down and pay it. That's actually a lot of extra work if you think about it, they are saving you. If you think it is easy and pleasant shuttling around to meet strangers you can try it some time. I go to a couple of girls instead of them coming to me and I really need to be motivated to do it.

Ninety percent of the time taxi fare will be under 20 mil COP or about five bucks so it's not worth getting bent out of shape over. A long taxi ride from Bello to El Centro can approach 25 mil. Then when she leaves she will expect taxi fare again. Or Uber, or Didi, or if you are lucky and staying in El Centro and she lives close by, shank's mare.

You are going to hear mongers tell you that they don't pay taxi but it's not worth arguing over with the chica or here, and you will pay one way or another. The "problem" with Uber or Didi is if you are paying them to leave, but they will expect to hang out in your room until the ride arrives and that can take some time.

I usually just tell them I pay 20 mil for taxi and leave it at that and I don't expect change. Now we are getting into the weeds. Mil stands for thousands, not millions, I've had a couple of guys ask me that lately.

Now that we have gotten thru that bullshite I will tell you what really happens. If you are dealing with a full time sex worker who is fairly busy she will be using a "friend" as a regular driver, maybe a taxi but more likely a private vehicle. That shouldn't really matter to you. Their ride will often wait downstairs and depending on the girl, they may also be using this friend for muscle, so be aware. I've never had a problem, meaning if she calls in the muscle you might deserve what's coming to you.

Don't try to talk to them about taking the metro. Medellin has one of the best metro systems in the world but when you only live in the place where you grew up, there aren't any comparisons. Even the lower strata girls are snobs about using it. As Catgirl once told me, "the metro is for working people and tourists." They assume anyone riding it not during rush hour is a tourist or a neerdowell. Weird but that's the vibe. Plus, a lot of these girls are miniature and they get smushed riding metro.
