Bottom line I wouldn't worry about the timing of your trip as it relates to the upcoming presidential election.
Some of the protests get pretty nasty, but you're right, they don't tend to be connected with elections. Unless some gringo is decked out in gear to promote one of the candidates, nobody is going to cause any problems over their politics.

The Ley Seca runs from 6 pm Saturday until 6 am Monday for the Sunday election day. Another issue on election day is that the Metro is free, so it's usually a lot more crowded than the typical Sunday.

Can the experienced mongers please chime in. Is Medellin and more importantly our hobby still safely enjoyable around election time?

Depends who you support, are you a chavista?

I'm just kidding I have no idea, trying to understand the political situation myself without bias. My own and the people who I'm seeing info from.

    Casa Cuba

Hard to find as it's in a parking lot. But once in, it was fine - 9 chicas, and all bangable. 30 minutes is 50 K and 1 HR is 70 K. I had a good little session with a curvy paisa but she wouldn't allow kissing or licking her nipples. The guy working there spoke perfect English and we had a good convo afterwards. Showers mandatory before the deed, and I like that.

If someone wants me to show them where it is, send me a PM. I'll be going again often unless I have a bad experience.

    Zandaly

Well documented here. About 6 girls, but most were a little out of shape, with strange lumps. Eg massive ass but skinny legs (butt implants? There was one shaggable girl, Paula, and I did her for 30 minutes for 50 K. Again showers mandatory, nice room, and she wouldn't allow kissing or boob licking except for a very quick peck on both aspects. I never understand why girls don't like guys licking their nipples, because it's an enormous turn-on if done right..

    They probably still had.

The last guys jizz on them.

Tomorrow, I'll try and find some of the lessor known casas. But it's a real struggle identifying the entrance in Medellin, as there is no sign whatsoever, no indication of the venue, and no guy standing outside giving a nudge and a wink. Even with the address listed on the wonderful map on this site, it's a challenge sometimes.

If anyone else knows any good casas, please share, either publicly or privately.

So just to add to the discussion about being "scoped," I always tell people not to accept drinks from other people, to take their drinks to the bathroom, blah blah blah. I tell people not to invite women they have never met to their apartment, and definitely not multiple women. I tell people to always take cabs at night, not to go with touts, and not to buy drugs on the street.

However, although I tell other people to do that shit, I never personally do any of it. And, I've never been drugged or robbed by a chica. I will have my 50th anniversary of mongering later this year if I can stay alive that long. I've gotten mugged, stomped, thrown in jail, chased by packs of dogs, spit on and I can't remember what else but never drugged or robbed by a chica. Once in a bar in Costa Rica I got roofied or something but I'm 95% sure that was mistaken identity; a guy was trying to roofie one of the women we were with. He evaporated once he realized his mistake and the other people, whom I did not know at all, took me to a hotel and used money out of my pockets to pay for the room. And there I woke up. They had left a note with the hotel desk clerk explaining things and apologizing for the fact it took almost all my money to pay for the room. Later I ran into one of them again and was able to piece together more. My point is, don't overly focus on getting robbed by the chicas to the extent you let your guard down in other ways. Bad shit can happen lots of places and lots of ways.

    You forgot the analyzing categorizers

The ones who analyze other board members and categorize them into stereotypical groups to boost themselves and their own self worth.

    (I'm just playing around).

    6. My place is better, this place sucks. Anyone choosing to visit this location is a fool, because their favorite place is much better.

    7. The Antagonists. Their only purpose is to attack anything written by their current enemy.

    8. The Basement Dwellers. They've never traveled, but they post reports and reviews which they copy from other reports..

Have a good friend that was scopalmined. He did go the ATM with the girl more than once, and was under the influence of scoplamine for around 3 days. He could not remember most of what happened, but a mutual friend saw him with the girl, knew something was wrong as he was acting strangely. The friend tried to follow him but lost him in a crowd. Anyway over a period of 3 days she got a significant amount of money and stole stuff from his place, but fortunately he recovered without serious damage. I don't think it makes anyone a slave or anything like that, just happy, unconnected with what is going on, and susceptible to suggestion. He probably just thought he was having fun, and maybe he was in a way. But without remembering the last trip to the ATM to give the girl money.

    1) The Cucumber. The "I am new help me out" poster.

    2) The Sexpert. The "RTFF" poster, who for some reason thinks we all have time to wade through 50 pages of bitching in order to find out one or two simple facts.

    3) The Curmudgeon - "this city isn't like it used to be, it used to be much better, it's too expensive now and there are too many people coming here" poster.

I bounce to a lot of different boards on ISG due to my travels (Kyiv, CDMX, Prague, Budapest, Bogota) and it is always the same characters with different names.

It's so much better if you just try to help dudes out and pay it forward. Alaska helped me, I help others, and we all have a good time.

    9. The Anecdotals. Because one thing happened to them, often in a different place, that thing is guaranteed to happen to everyone else.

    10. The disbelievers. If someone has a better experience than they usually have, the other person must be lying.

    11. The misdirector. Whatever someone posts, they had an experience which is in no way related and happened somewhere else, which proves the postee is mistaken.

    12. The CSR. Customer Service Rep. The guys who try to help.

It's worth remembering that most posters fall in different categories at different times.

    Medellin in May before elections

Looks like my first ever visit to Medellin will coincide with national elections in May. I usually avoid travelling to countries around election time due to who knows what will happen. Not sure how crazy things become in Medellin around election time.
