I was hoping to get the input of the more experienced Medellin guys on the scopolamine issue.

Don't put any food or drink in your body that you have not been in complete control of since it was prepared.

Plus, scope tastes nasty, super bitter. The one time I experienced an attempted scope in my hotel room I instantly tasted it and spit it back out. Perhaps in bars the guys are already too drunk or swept up in the moment to notice. I dunno.

And by the time she added it to my drink it was fairly small and not diluted much, so that probably made a difference.

The purrfect drink to scope would be something with Angostura bitters or tonic water in it that already naturally bitter.

Zandaly and Aventura have bars. You might like those. Zandaly is a short walk from New Life. You would need a taxi or Metroplus to get to Aventura.

Okay, I've just returned to my hotel. I went to Conejita first. It's a bar with a strip pole in the middle. It was around 6 pm, and there were about 20 guys sitting on single tables and about 4-5 girls pottering around. A fat chick was dancing on the runway. Aquila beer was 8 K. I asked the guy working there how much for 30 mins and he quoted me 100 K. A couple of the girls there were worth banging. Now a 100 K price is a bargain for someone flying straight from the pussy-desert known as the USA, but I've been in Bogota for a few weeks where I've been banging chicas in casa for 35 K for half and hour. So, feeling like a cheapstake, there was no way I was going to pay 100 K here. I don't want to feed the price inflation.

So, I walk off to New Life. It's a blue door. Just push to open, and then there are two metal security doors. Ring the bell, and they will be opened automatically. Once upstairs, I said "Es mi primera vez aqui" to the mamasan, to which she replied in near perfect English "I know, I can tell. " and she went onto explain the rules. Price list is on the wall 55 K for 30 mins etc. If you decide to walk after seeing the girls you need to pay 3 K. All signs are in Spanish AND English. I was shown about 15 girls. Most were bangable, and I chose a curvy one with big tits and big ass. Oh, another great rule here is that a shower before is mandatory. I like that, because Medellin is a hot city, and I like to be clean before the deed. The time for the shower doesn't count towards the 30 minutes. You pay the money after the bang..

To me it seems very unlikely that you will get robbed by a girl who you bring back to your place if you have already agreed on a price. For example, a Parque Lleras girl who you have agreed on a price with. The girl knows she's getting paid so she has a lot less incentive to have to steal from you.

That reasoning is flawed. She will rob your entire apartment, your credit cards, etc. In addition to the agreed-upon price. Chasing hookers in Medellin isn't going to be like SA in Iowa. The way to avoid getting scoped is to control your food and beverages, particularly the latter.

100% true. In fact, while in Colombia, Alaska and I were saying that every board on ISG has like three types of posters:

1) The Cucumber. The "I am new help me out" poster.

2) The Sexpert. The "RTFF" poster, who for some reason thinks we all have time to wade through 50 pages of bitching in order to find out one or two simple facts.

3) The Curmudgeon - "this city isn't like it used to be, it used to be much better, it's too expensive now and there are too many people coming here" poster.

I bounce to a lot of different boards on ISG due to my travels (Kyiv, CDMX, Prague, Budapest, Bogota) and it is always the same characters with different names.

It's so much better if you just try to help dudes out and pay it forward. Alaska helped me, I help others, and we all have a good time.

First day here just wanted to say I had a great time and Zandaly Massage. I'm staying at an Airbnb nearby It was 50 k pesos for 30 min BJ Sex and Massage. The girl was gorgeous and very freaky too,. I think the women are better looking here than in Bogota. Also so glad I booked an Airbnb in centro within walking distance of all the action instead of Poblado even though the taxi driver who dropped me off asked why did I want to stay in an area so Nasty LOL. Whenever I hear these stories (there are a couple of Facebook groups dedicated to the topic) they almost all seem to be initiated on tinder and the girl is willing to come straight to the guy's apartment without any discussion of money and the guy thinks he is getting laid for free because she just loves gringos.

To me it seems very unlikely that you will get robbed by a girl who you bring back to your place if you have already agreed on a price. For example, a Parque Lleras girl who you have agreed on a price with. The girl knows she's getting paid so she has a lot less incentive to have to steal from you.

If I was in Medellin all the time and had to budget, I could see negotiating down and going for the women in El Centro. But if you are a tourist there for a week, I would not even bother. It makes no sense to me to be spending that much money on the air fare and hotel and then cheapening it up. I saw higher class women and never was worried about being stolen from or drugged by them.

Thing about scopolamine is that it made into this wonder drug and all it is just an anti-histamine like Benadryl. It is given these amazing powers but it does not work if you blow it in someone's face or a girl kisses you with it after she has sprinkled on her lips. It needs to be given by injection or orally to have an effect.

So you can take a pill to block its effects and there is a shot you can take that will automatically reverse the effects of scopolamine. If you want to know what they are, PM me.

But scopolamine is glorified Benadryl, and that tells me the reports of its danger are ridiculously exaggerated. Sure, make sure you have the waiters open the bottle in front of you and keep your eye on your drink. I just think short term tourists should not be dealing with the SWs. There are just too many safer alternatives.

I am a newbie to the forum and this is my first post. I've lurked a bit and my only regret about this forum is that I did not discover it sooner. Some of the posts are absolute gold for me since I've been thinking of becoming a traveling pervert for quite some time.

A bit about me: I am mid-fifties, divorced and live in a medium-sized midwestern US city. I have limited experience with international travel or fulltime SW's but a good bit of experience with local sugar babies (mostly seeking) over the past 4 years.

Last summer I did a two-week trip to Medellin with a buddy. Had a very good time and I will do a detailed report soon.

I was hoping to get the input of the more experienced Medellin guys on the scopolamine issue. It seems like the reports of getting drugged and robbed as a foreigner are becoming more and more common. Whenever I hear these stories (there are a couple of Facebook groups dedicated to the topic) they almost all seem to be initiated on tinder and the girl is willing to come straight to the guy's apartment without any discussion of money and the guy thinks he is getting laid for free because she just loves gringos.

The Scopolamine issue isn't adequately discussed online, because most victims are unwilling to admit they were drugged and robbed. It's the same with guys who have gotten robbed in other ways, or scammed. Maybe 1 in 5 will publicly admit to it.

However, it also gets blown out of proportion by people repeating urban legends, or claiming to know a victim. I know that's not much help. It's best, instead of worrying about there being an epidemic of scopolamine attacks, to focus on how to prevent being the victim. The same is true when considering other potential personal security issues.

About 3 years ago a Canadian University Professor was drugged, robbed and killed, and his dismembered body wasn't found for a couple of weeks. If I remember correctly, his cards had $15 k withdrawn from them. It was later reported that the perpetrators we're using Tinder to select victims. I believe that was the first time such acts were connected to Tinder.

How do you reduce your risks? These steps are my opinion. Others will almost certainly disagree.

1. The people in Medellin are friendly. That doesn't mean they are your friends. If anyone starts treating you like a friend, offering to take you to a better place, trying to get you to drink with them, be suspicious of their motives.

2. Keep your wits about you. Getting drunk in public increases your risk. It's much easier to recognize that you're feeling dizzy or confused when you're sober.

3. Be aware of the people who are paying too much attention to you. The chance of running into someone who went to high school with your brother is miniscule (although it did happen to a friend I was with in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands 41 years ago. I thought we were about to get our asses kicked, but it turned out we drank for free, because the bar owner was from the same city as my friend).

4. Keep control of your drink. Don't let the girl you picked up make a drink for you. Don't leave your drink unattended. Don't drink anything offered by a stranger.

5. Recognize that anyone can be a victim. I know people who have mongered all over the world, with many years of experience, who have gotten caught because they let their guard down.

6. Carry just a little bit of paranoia with you. If someone is trying to get close, or trying to distract you, assume they aren't looking out for your best interests. Keep them at a distance and move to a safer spot, inside of an open business, next to a cop, or anywhere where you can quickly attract attention.

I would forget about your belief that knowing she will get paid is a deterrent. If you're a gringo, in Parque Lleras, you're probably worth robbing. That doesn't mean the risk is high. Every day 1,000 gringos pay for sex without any problems. As long as you remain alert, your chances of avoiding problems are quite good.
