Perhaps you should be a little more specific about what really is the cream of the crop later in the evenings in Centro. I say this because there will be some who may think just maybe not as many beauty queens out.

After dark, and later into evenings your going to have an assortment of glue sniffer's, druggies, drunks, homeless people, zombies, and suspect providers prowling around, which truly is the "cream of the crop" of Centro. LOL.

Today was proof for me that putting the time into Facebook is worth it. As I mentioned earlier I've built up a list of about 600 girls as compared to 20 on my first trip. One night I was approached by three guys while the police was still present. One spoke English to me trying to be friendly. I let him got close and he proceeded to pick my pocket. He was not afraid of being caught. I got away and put some distance between him and me then they left. I know they are not from El Centro because I was there all the time. I never saw them before or after.

I think the police will try to prevent crimes but they probably won't try to chase the bad guys when nothing happens. I saw a machete fight near the station, and the locals yelled "policia". The moto police showed up quickly to stop the fight. Things like these happen once in a while. You don't see them but they are there.

The main shopping street South of Parque Berrio (Bolivar?) has thousands of pedestrian during day time. Are shops open, people walking after sundown?

Lugnut, I am there almost everyday and never seen or heard anything like that ever happening, and yea I go there at night too, after 8. There are some lookers out at that hour, but not as many. I usually end up there for the drinks and sitting on the bench with the other gringos. Drinks are cheaper in that area.

We might even ran into each other and not even know it.

If it happens to you or anyone else just yell LATRON LATRON and see what happens. Cops want to keep that place safe for the tourists and it has changed since my first or even my last visit here. Its unusual to hear your story, but you have my sympathies.

There's no right way to get from the airport. I've done taxis, the bus, had a Facebook girl with a car pick me up (and give me a handjob while I fingered her on the drive to Medellin, before the tunnel existed) and had 2 regular girls I know pick me up.

If I'm arriving day time and traveling light, I'll take the bus to San Diego, if I'm staying in Poblado, Envigado or Sabaneta, then hop on a south bound bus. If I'm staying in Laureles, arriving day time and traveling light, bus to Nutibara, metro to Estadio. The question isn't whether it's safe to walk around El Centro at night. The real question is why would anyone want to walk around El Centro at night? Most of the places are closed after about 8 pm. The only street girls out after 8 pm are generally not the cream of the crop.

I think they raise the price quit a bit. My info is just before pandemic. There is a drink price list behind the bar before, not sure if it is still there. You tip the dancer 2000 COP. You can get the waiter to exchange 2 k bills for you or you can go to the bar to exchange it. I exchange 50 mil at a time. You will exchange it more than once if you stay long. 320 mil to take girl to the room is about right. It was 300 mil before. If you want to be sure, ask a few more girls to see if they all give you the same price. You can pay by credit card

Pay by credit card, interesting, I didn't know that, but can't see a lot of guys doing it, but I guess you could chalk up some points on a card if you frequented the place a lot. LOL.

How do members feel about walking around El Centro at night. I have only heard negative things about the safety, but then the same things are said about Santa Fe in Bogota. (If you stick to the 3 carreras between Cll. 23 & 24 it is pretty safe). Is there a limited area that is safe and enjoyable?

If you are curious, search for Occidental here to read the reports. I also reported it in the Map and List thread. This strip club is near the more sketchy area. Basically there is not much that will interest you. If you want to go, survey it during daytime, and leave the same way you arrive. Night time can be very different from day time so you don't want to go to the place you don't know. The day time market can be occupied by wall to wall glue sniffers at night.

El Centro has no police presence at night while Santa Fe does. El Centro also has a lot more drug users

Can someone explain how la isla works?

I've gone twice now. Paid 20 mil cover each time.

Got charged 30 mil for a water and thought it would be 20 mil. Could be gringo taxed.

How much are you supposed to tip the girls when they come up and ask for tips for dance?

Now parque Lleras.

I'm not fond of it. There's Camilla who I think is the only street girl worth while there. I've gone into parque Lleras club melow moet club and I've gotten a few whatsapp and quoted ranging from 350 mil to 500 mil. But there is so much silicone in there.

I've yet to go to gusto but just felt it wasn't worth it after parque Lleras club. Am I missing something? I had higher hopes for parque Lleras.

2 k is the standard tip for the girls when they come around at La Isla or any of the strip clubs. The waiters at La Isla will bring you a stack of 2 k bills for a 50 k bill. Expect them to take out a couple for a tip.
