I have done MDE to Pereira by rental car in years past and have always wanted to rent a motorcycle and do the mountainous roads that way. I plan to do frequent stops and just chill during the trip as I have a month to burn in country. Has anyone done this or have relative info, advice, etc. ? I already have my moto license and relative open road gear.

Anyway, I was wondering (from anyone living there), what is the weather like in March, and April? I am planing a visit, for that period, this year. Yea, I know it raining there during those time periods, but I want to know if it rains all day, or like for a and hour or so, like other places I have been to. That would not be good if its raining all day, every day, for those months.

I am often in Pereira, I can say the weather is nearly perfect there. When I was looking for an apartment / house I quickly noticed almost none of them had airconditioning or heating. Why? A quick look at Wiki shows the historical record high for Pereira is less than 98.6 f /37 c and low 50 f /10 c. Yes, it can get a little warm, a little cool, but not a lot. Average year round temp of 72 f /22 c. Yeah it rains year round, for about an hour or two then clears up again. Thats why they call the area "el pais eterno primavera" (land of eternal spring) Oct. And Nov. , Apr. And May are slightly rainier, but not by much. Other parts of Colombia get saturated and have those landslides you see on the news occasionally. Also, surprisingly I noticed there aren't a lot of mosquitos or other bitchos. I like it a lot there.

I was in Pereira a few years back and thinking about going back. In the last 18 months or so, it appears to becoming a monger destination. One reason I like Pereira is that I don't prepago. Prepago, is the norm in other places throughout Colombia, and its really I big bummer for me. I never prepago, no matter what the circumstances. I hope they don't do that now there. Any comments about that would also be appreciated.

When I was there I remember paying about 15 usd for a girl and a short time room. Now I see from the map that World Traveler provided things have changed quite a bit. When I was there, there was only 2 really SW areas and now from WT, says that there are more. No casa bars or anything of that kind, to be seen when I was there, and trust me, I would know about it.

I decided to see more of Colombia so I headed to pereira for a few days and then to Cali. I was staying in a hostel so I couldn't have any chicas over. Decided to find Sophia from mileroticos, found her and she has a very basic apartment a few minutes from the park of lakes. First secession was at noon on Tues. I'm quite tempted to go there for maybe 4 days or so before making my way home again. I have about 4 months total time in Medellin this year. I know there wouldn't be a Parque Lleras in Pereira, but I'd like to know where the nice area is. While using Google Street view, the area around Parque Bolivar seems decent enough.

I've been to Pereira 9 times. I like the city, its more easy going than Medellin or Bogota and goes at a slower pace of life. Friendly people. I always stay at the Soratama Hotel across from Parque Bolivar. Its around $60 a night. Theres always a few hookers in the park. I like to hang out at either Bolivar mall or Victoria mall. Lots of eateries there. The main reason I go there is to go to the warm spring spas at Santa Rosa de Cabral; its a short bus ride away. Theres a few sex places in the town, check World Travel 69's list, its quite extensive.

I have asked many Colombians and they say it is like a small Medellin, that is kind of ugly. And they don't really like it. But, it has very friendly people.

I've passed through Pereira many times, always thought it was a shithole compared to Manizales.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cucuta back in November of 2016 for 4 nights booked for 2 people during which I had 1 daytime lady visitor for about 1 hour. Upon checkout they tried to charge me a guest fee of around 50 K COP, I'm not sure exactly how much, but it was around there. I was a bit irrate and made a fuss over it, since no one told me it was going to be an extra charge when they called my room to tell me she was in the lobby.

Anyways, I would count them in the non chica friendly category, but you others may not care about 50 k.

Yes, I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cucuta a few years back. Great area and close to mall. Never had issues during the day. Can't say at night. I would just call them and ask.

I've been in Colombia the last five weeks for work and of course made a little free time to enjoy the always sexy Colombianas. I was in Pereira for a single night on two separate occasions. Thanks to previous posters for the good map details. One night went to La Mansion de David on Carrera 8, #28-77 and Casa la Abuela on Calle 31, #86-25. Fair but not great selection at both places which each had really loud music. Went with a girl, whose name I already forgot, at La Abuela and had a decent session but nothing remarkable by my always high Colombian standards. 80 k for 45 minutes plus extra for BBBJ.

I sometimes check the doncolombia website for recommendations. Usually 90 percent of the posts are guys asking other guys for recommendations with very few actual reports. But there was one very positive review for a Pereiragirl named Sofia from mileroticos. All the sex stars lined up with this one. I have to admit I felt a pang of jealousy, until, that is, beautiful Sofia came in. I trust that Colombianos, especially those with money, know how lucky they are.
