Arrived from Armenia city it takes just 2.5 hours with minibus for 30 k. Staying at hotel Ayenda 1129 Tierra Caliente for 60 k per night for single room. Best to book on booking its cheaper at hotel they asking 89 k for same single room. Its just 400 metres from city centre and 1 kilomitres away from all action. When I arrived here I don't have any clue where is all action is so my guess was not so bad where to stay. City centre is nice and super busy daytime with many restaurants shops, banks and so on seems very safe at daytime and even early night time till 22.00 pm plenty people around.

Street girls standing close to the park Andres Lopez Galarza. I see at least 4-5 of them 1 was cute black girl if you walk around park on carrera 2 side you can't miss them. Close to petrol station also on carrera 2 close to calle 18 A was many ladyboys 4-5 in one group so be careful here. All bars and clubs (except show pasarela) is just next to the park in 50 _200 metres distance away from each other so you can't miss them they playing loud music and all places have security guards outside. This area next to the park probably looks a bit dodgy at night. But if you been in el centro at night in Medellin or around Santa Fe Bogota at night this place looks safer.

El angel bar Calle 18 no. 2 -21 is a bar with girls open every day from 9 am till 3 am 18-20 girls some black inside beer aquilla light 5 k. Sex 30 min -60 k I. The room its just 10 metres away from bar same building its small but seems clean fine for short time no have shower. Girl give dry wipes to clean yourself. Take Venezuelan girl 19 years old flakita but with huge boobs great attitude sex was great. She give me her WhatsApp and allowed some photos together very sweet girl. This place have best selection of girls I like at least 3-4. And was most busy place 9 pm don't have free table to sit probably 50 costumers inside. Nice atmosphere inside. When I went inside one girl was dancing naked on the pole. Was not so busy place. Around 10 costumers inside. I ask one girl how much for 30 minutes she get confused and start ask something another girl in the ear. They see I am gringo. After 10-15 second she quoted me 100 mil for 30 min (I understand its a gringo price) this girl was not my type so I don't said anything. I am pretty sure the right price is less probably 60-80 k for 30 min like at another clubs. The security guard of this place see me walking through the park and said be careful its dangerous.

Strip club Brasil show- just next side of the park 200 metres away from strip club dioso. Around 22.20 pm was 10-15 costumers inside and 10-12 girls its like a bar or strip club on 2 floors. Few girls was cute. I get quoted for 30 min- 80 k and for 1 hour -130 k. Aquilla light 5 k. On the first floor is a bar playing loud music some girls walking naked or just in bikini. On the second floor its more quiet area with sofas you can go sit here on stay downstairs. I see some costumers bring girls from downstairs to upstairs and drink and talk here.

Club pasarela show- calle 18 and carrera 2 corner. Come around 23.00 pm inside was 5 costumers and around 10 girls the quality probably was worst compare with other places I like just one black girl but she was with costumer already. Its a huge strip club. Aquilla light 5 k corona 10 k red bull-15 k. I ask one girl how much she want I get quoted 30 min -60 k and 1 hour 100 k. The security guards here nice guys they told me where is all another places for girls and suggest don't walk here at night its not safe and one of them catch me a taxi. I like this city people seems friendly at restaurants and streets. Girls seems excited at bars and clubs to see foreigner some of them want come talk to me or touching me when passing by. Just add my mini map with all places I saved on google maps. Green flags its the places to go as you see they all in walking distance.

Sunday evening in Villavicencio, I headed to Parque Hacha. Sunday is a slow day at the park, so there weren't many chicas out, the two Vene cuties had taken the day off, but there was a beautiful Euro looking babe, late 20's, looking very appealing. I had walked around a lot, so sat down to have a juice and cool off before making my approach. In that time, she got up and left, and as she wallked down the street, heads were a-turnin'.

On Tuesday evening I walked around with Tall Man through all the aforementioned streets and places. It's was 6-7 pm, night had fallen and the park was mostly emptied as the bars and clubs had opened up and all the action went to those establishments and outside them. The streets were much more alive, many party people out, and some attractive ladies doing their thing. The scene here is bite-sized but delightful.

An update about the recomended hotel. The real name is Hotel Centauros del Llano, a prominent multi-story hotel a block away from town square Plaza Libertadores. When talked to the manager, he quoted 65 K for a standard room with AC, cable TV. The hotel also has a restaurant with a view to the city, and its own parking lot. Will try hotel Centaros when return, though where I stayed at, Refugio Llanero, was not a bad choice either.

Suffice to say that Frogg and The Tall Man are not virgin Villavicencio anymore, hehehehe.

I think we both agree that we will return to VV at some future date and explore more.

The locals call this city Viao for short (three syalbles VI-A-O). From downtown Viao, there are vans that go to nearby towns Restrepo and Cumaral. I took one of these vans for 8,000 pesos on a side trip to Restrepo and had ice cream at the town sqare / park. On one corner of the park there was a Chinese restaurant. Walked into the restaurant, ordered Chop Suey, which turned out to be delicious, served as a soup, it was the best meal I've had in all my time in Colombia, recomended!

The hotel was quiet until the large group of teenagers arrived yesterday. The lady manager is doing her best to rein them in, but it's impossible. They are making a lot noise and overwhelming the wifi. They also destroyed a cieling fan.

Will look for you in the morning. I was supposed to be in Villavicencio for only three days but I keep staying for more. From what I knew about the llanos region, I was expecting an underveloped hick-town. But there's very little trace of that, just a cowboy hat being sold here-and-there and a llama in the town square.

Well that's great to hear. I had only been to Medellin and Bogota previously, but this place feels just like Medellin with warm weather, hot chicks, similary city layout, architecture, food, fashion. The racial make up is also basically the same, mostly white, some browns, with a few black and Venezuelans. I speak Spanish and I don't find the accent particulary unique here, it sounds the same as what I encoutured in Medellin and Bogota, which also did not sound terribly different to me. So Villavicencio is same as Mede, just without the abundance of tourists and sex workers. How many cities are like this?

The Tall Man is here now, same hotel as you, thanks for the recommendation and it is exactly as you described, nice friendly people, clean rooms, good TV as I am watching my LA Charges winning the game, I drove in from Bogota, took 3 hours and a nice drive, lots of scenery, it is really cool that you basically drop down the Andes mountain range from an elevation os 9,000 feet in Bogota to Villaviencia which sits at like 1,500 feet, love the warm weather as Bogota is just too cold.

Now last night I met up with Woodman in Bogota, I have known him for a number of years, and we walked all of SF and a number of the bars, some bars was off the hook, crazy fun stuff going on and although I was a little disappointed on my Wednesday night romps around last night was awesome.

Captain Solo you can understand this, the clubs in SF last night was the same as a fun and crazy Saturday night in HK club in Tijuana in good times. Cute girls and hungry to have some fun and make some pesos, lots of fun.

Villavicencio is only 50 miles South of Bogota. Read like an interesting exposure to authentic Colombian lifestyles outside of bg cities like Bogota and Medellin. You got there on buses? Will put up with Gringos-spoiled brats in Parc Lleras for a few days then find my way out to the country.

After having been to Bogota and Medellin many times, decided to try out a new city. I settled on Villavicencio since its only 3 hours away from where I was (Bogota), and noting the good weather, average daily high temperature is 87 F. Also, it's a sizable city of half a million people, yet gets little attention.

I am staying at Refugio Llanero Hotel, which I found on Airbnb for about 12 $ bucks a night total. So far it's been good, clean and quite, easy entrance and exit, large room and bed. There is no hot water, but the cold water feels good when it's 87 F in the afternoon. Sometimes there is the sound of a generator or AC at night, though I always travel with bags of heavy-duty earplugs and have slept soundly everynight (last night there was no noise). I don't know about bringing guests to this hotel as that's something I don't do. Another hotel that caught my eye is Hotel Ayenda Centauros, it looks very appealing, a nice three star hotel just a block away from the main town square.

About the action in downtown, I've determined that from Plaza Libertadores, walking south away from the church from either corner will lead you to babes. Carrera 32 will lead you to Parque del Hacha, and Carrera 33 will take you to the area with bars and hotels. There are also two bars and hotels on Calle 36 near the corner of Carrera 33, but I saw only middle aged women there. I found a cute 18 year old local girl on the corner of Calle 35 and Carrera 33. She didin't have her ID, but insisted she was 18. Not one to mess with the law, I paid her 10 K to go back to her apartment (walking distance) and retrieve her ID, which she did, and all was valid. Our session was mostly bungled as she was so inexperienced in bed and in business, but was still fun and a learning experience for both of us (first time checking an ID)..

What impresses me most about Villavicencio is the high quality of life. It's mostly clean with decent happy people and a lot of activity in downtown. Not just one-or-two blocks or the central square but the whole of the downtown area is bustling with activity. There are pedestrian streets and music in the air. The only time I felt unsafe is when I explored their small skid row (also the locals tell me Parque del Hacha is unsafe after 5PM.) In my time here, I have not felt the need to leave downtown, have not taken a single taxi, uber or bus, other than the taxi from the bus terminal to hotel--the terminal is actually quite aways from downtown, a small hurdle. If you are mainly looking for high availabilty of P2P, the other better known cities are the way to go. But life is good here, and I'm amazed at the lack of gringos.

Yeah, I think VV is an interesting place as well. Even though it is far from the border, I heard there were a lot of Vennies there. It is close to Bogota but it has warm weather. It is like a 1 hour flight or 3 hour bus drive from Bogota. Hotels seemed nice there and were cheap. There were a lot of women from seeking.com that said they lived in Bogota but actually lived in VV. I found them not to be as jaded as the ones in Bogota. I wish I would have pursued VV like you did.

I walked a block or two futher south, and also along east / west cross streets and found more bars and hotels with women sitting outside or in the lobby, and found a club called 'Eroxis Night Club' on which next door stood a mildly attractive young chick. I stopped and chatted with her. She said the club with music starts at 6 pm, but also confirmed that where she was standing (door next to club) there was service all day. There was another chick who came out to hear our conversation but she was not very attractive, and on opposite side of the street there was another woman, also not too attractive, seated in front of a hotel. This was on Calle 35 on the block past Carrera 33 (also worth checking out is Carrera 33 one block north of Calle 35). Basically, this area (along with the park) is the real redlight district, while the area east of downtown more resembles a skid row.

So far, I'm liking Villavicencio. I don't know that I'll be going back to Medellin anytime soon, hehe.
