Just a quick note. Took the advice of a previous poster and just asked a cabbie for info. The place is a little bit out of town. Bit of a dance / drinking place. Everything was nice enough.

8pm Sat night and no guys there. My girl said they all show up later. Six or seven girls. Nothing standing out. I went with the girl I was introduced to when I arrived. Not really my type but had a great time! Voluptuous with no fat and very sexy. Wonderful smile and attitude and great fun fucking. Her name was Nicki. Gave a BBBJ and finished with cim. BJ not expert but good enough.

Seems to be open all day and night? Not sure.

Taxi (return + 30m wait) 30,000 = 15US.

So it looks like Santa Marta has a bit of a negative reputation. I'm an expat thats been living here a while now, if you are heading this way let me know and I'd be more than happy to point you in the right directions (hottest girls, apartments, girl friendly hotels, clubs, VIP etc.).

If you like to dive, Taganga is a good place. Went with Poseidon for a 2 dive trip. COP 150K. Told them I had a bad experience last time around and the dive master was very attentive.

I found a great restaurant in Taganga. Baba Ganoush. It is up the hill at the beginning of the road that takes you out of Taganga. I had excellent Carpacio, Filet Mignon in Red Wine (Blue Cheese was recommended but not my thing) and white chocolate mousse. Awesome view over the bay and the whole town too.

I'm in Santa Rosa cabal might be here still for awhile way nicer then Chinchina put less pro places, While I'm posting on Chinchina I think those bars that are past Parcel on weekends may open late morning and close like 2 am like the Santa rosa bars. Also when you take the bus from there Chinchina as you start to take the road a couple blocks from where the buses leave seems to be another bar with girls. Maybe next Saturday leave middle of day from Santa Rosa take a 3 mil 25 minute bus ride there, My main thing is to hit Las Vegas bar there in centro past parecel that one block of sleazy clubs not the supers hit holes by the market. I know at El parcel its 45 mil for a quickie in Santa Rosa at the Pollypop bar like 37 mil a quick 20 minute pop maybe that las Vegas since its scummier might be cheaper, Will go like noon like I said return 7ish.

Ok here yeh just two areas of bars by the market one one bar called Like Aplloypop not Pollypop, one girl Mara busty 36 dds seems ok but I passed on her.

Ok thats mainly the two places for action here in Santa rosa and better deals on hotels here then Chinchina which may cost more and be more scummier for sure. OK Well If any mongers want to hook up with me here pm me just only thing I hate about the bars by the market in Santa Rosa not as dangerous as the ones in Chinchina by the market but too many crazy dudes and police by therre since its by a police station, I just don't want the cops to hassle me check and say my copys not good enough, then again I am not in Mexico.

Oh on Santa Rosa in the Red Zone Paserla seems the safest bet more bigger but still scummy.

I doubt they have all shut down. More to the point, the beaches there are not ugly unless you're unwilling to do any legwork whatsoever. Go into the national park, take lanchas (water taxis) and explore a bit. Where the river mouth meets the ocean, there are nice private cabinas. Very pimp place to take a girl. There is a house that hangs over a cliff, ditto. Inside the park there is a serious diversity of beaches, some of which are very nice. It's much nicer than Cartagena and the Pacific region as well.

Totally agree with you as the beaches in El Rodadero why Parque Tayrona are so much better than what Cartagena has to offer. On another note, as I stated the one and only time I was in Santa Marta, which was just several weeks ago, the taxi driver I used told me that the only working girls places were the 4 I named in my previous post, and those I was not that impressed with.

I agree on the quality of the girls, it's very mediocre. They do come from all over but it seems like more rural areas than anything. Not the kind of magnet that Cartagena is.

I have not mongered in SM in five years but there at least eight places I went to and I was told there are more between El Rodadero and El Centro. There is another spot in Rodadero similar to Bananas and Flamingos and another Centro brothel that is pretty run down and filled with locals.

My overall point was that there is action there, even though it's a better place to bring a chica than to find one. I've been there seven times and only mongered once, although I was pretty bored so I did try and kick as many tires as possible that time.

At any rate, way to show patience. I posted this maybe 16 hours ago and you're already in the MDE thread being pushy about it and basically calling me out for false info. Sheesh, low rent.

I also was not very impressed by the quality of the girls in the Santa Marta area, or in these clubs I mentioned. I found these places through a taxi driver, and I asked him if there were any others, and he told me no, so please post in case I ever get back to this area, which is highly unlikely.

This information is heavy handed and largely inaccurate. There are more than three bars there, at least a dozen options. The beaches are only dirty if you are lazy, you can see some incredible stuff by boat. It's not a McDonald's drive-thru of sex and gorgeous beaches (go to Aruba if you want that) but you are underselling it big time.

Santa Marta offers dirty beaches, very limited mongering opportunities compared to say a Cartagena, Medellin, or even Barranquilla. It also is not the greatest place to be at night if you do not know your way around, as robberies and crimes against tourists are very common. Actually a couple of tourists were killed in Santa Marta last year. It does have only 3 puta dance type of bars, and alot of ugly street putas wandering around who are over weight, and missing teeth. Never seen so many girls with missing teeth as you find in the Santa Marta area. Must be something in the contaminated water, and yes the water is very contaminated.

The below poster did get one thing right, and that is the place is not for someone who does not enjoy real hot weather, as the sun is very hot. [Deleted by Admin]

Have anyone visited Turbo?

Seems to me that this city would enjoy the same climate as Cartagena, but with few foreign tourists.

That makes it interesting, at least to vivist for week or so, since Medellin, having it all but a beach.

I read on Wikipedia that the Panamerican Highway is broken above Turbo, so it seems dificult to access to Panama, even if it very close by which is part of the Catch 22 situation I encounter about leaving Colombia to renew my tourist visa. It cost $750 US to travel from Medellin to San Jose, where I have a dear friend, while the corresponding trip in USA, Europe or Asia would the like $100-200 US. The only cheap rout is to Ecuador, but it seems boring.

Wiki: Turbo lies near the southeastern tip of the Dariéand Gap and is the northern terminus of the main route of the Pan American Highway in South America. There is currently no paved road connecting through the region to Yaviza, Panama, where the highway continues through Central and North America.

Why is that? Intentionally?

I would not recommend Turbo for mongering or tourism, I certainly would not recommend crossing almost any point of the Colombian / Panamanian border. Unnecessary risk and hassle for nothing. I have a very good friend from Turbo, his family relocated to Cali. They didn't have anything wonderful to say about it.

Is there ANYTHING worth siteseeing in Buenaventura, most of the reports have pretty negative about the city. That it was dangerous and an ugly port town. Any beaches there?

I have a good friend who is from there, and she is incredible in the sack. That said, she seldom goes back home and said it was quite dangerous. At one point the murder rate was astronomical. 175+/100K. It has calmed down a bit but not that much. I am fairly adventurous, but I would consider it too "caliente" for my liking. That and what is the upshot? It's not a gorgeous port or anything. You could find action in almost any city, nothing extraordinary there. Even beautiful black girls can be found all over, for example Cali.
