Pro, if you have a special lady in Bucaramanga you might want to try the El Portal for a night. The cabana i stayed in was very nice and had a hot tub that was large enough for 6 people.they have a very nice resturasant on site. It is a nature park. i would advise taking some food and beverages with you.

Holly Smokes Man, those Cucuta chicas are hot. If you need protection on your way there I'll make the sacrifice and leave the security of the Cartagena tourist compound and come with you.

The Bucaramanga/Cucuta road is from what I heard one of the most scenic drives in Colombia ... its like driving at the top of the world ; I'll check how safe it is when in Bucaramanga.
Beside the scenic road, I'd be disappointed to skip Cucuta : http://www.areacucuta.com/index.php?...allery&type=25

I don’t think none of us here are as high profile as Uribe or has Po’d as many Colombianos as he has… lol. But I guess it’s always wise to err on the side of caution in Colombia although I hear it’s quite a scenic trip by bus.

Posts: 71Riding the bus to Cucuta
I took the bus from Bucaramanga to Santa Marta and would not do it again. Never mind the danger it was the most uncomfortable trip i have ever taken. I also once took the bus from Bogota to Bucaramanga and would not advise taking the bus.

That is one of the most dangerous areas in the entire country. Even President Uribe's visit was cut short due to security concerns and he stayed inside a heavily fortified military base the entire time he was in Cucuta. Aside from FARC, criminals and paras, there is the little matter of the border skirmishes with Venezuela that often result in exchanges of gunfire!
Ask locally in Bucaramanga to get the MOST current info, but I would tread VERY lightly up thataway.

There's no reports about Cucuta on the board. I plan a three weeks stay in Santander (Bucaramanga)/Norte de Santander in January coupled with two weeks in Bogota and three in Barranquilla or Medellin.
Any infos about about the road from Bucaramanga to Cucuta and about hotels, nightlife, chicas, non-pro spots, ect there ?
Any help would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I was in Colombia in the 70's and Santa Marta and Cartegena were shit holes. Bogata was a depressing place, but good discos w/culu caliente, and decent brothels. Cali and Medallin were much nicer. Somebody here at ISG posted some really nice photos of gals in Med and Cali. That is going to be my Christmas trip.

Please STAY in the US or Thailand. There is no reason for you to go to South America. Absolutely NONE. Stay home (or keep going to Thailand and PI). Ditto for everybody else with the same attitude.

I would suggest for you just going to Cartagena as it is an easier more relaxed destination for tourists. Prices are more but that's normal anywhere.
