I decided to go to Pasto as it was on the way to Ipiales for the Las Lejas sanctuary and boy am I happy I came to this place. It's a bit out of the way though. You can take a flight from Bogota or Cali to Pasto airport which is a tiny little airport but has one of the most beautiful approaches. The city is at similar elevation to Bogota so you may get altitude sickness for the first couple of days. Taxis are readily available and go to the city for 60 k which is very fair since the drive is like 40 minutes climbing up the mountain. I got nice three floor penthouse for super cheap with a gorgeous 360 view of the city. The city is rather cold, much like Bogota but I like to cold so it works for me. It's also kind of rainy and windy, also like Bogota, so don't get any impressions of this being Medellin.

Experience 1: The ugly.

My usually MO is online game so I messaged a bunch of girls on mileroticos. One of the weird things here is that there aren't really any casas or street action that I am aware of so almost everything is online. Pro:

The city is beautifully situated in the mountains.

There are a good number of hot young girls here though be careful since a good number of them are actually in high school.

Most things are pretty cheap.

The people are very friendly. Even with my limited Spanish I had a number of good conversations with locals that I tend not to have in Medellin or Cali.

The taxi drivers are really honest and you can hail them from the street. Cost of going anywhere in the city is 7 k, no matter how close or far.

Few tourists. This is relatively unspoiled Colombia.

Con:

It is kind of a pain in the ass to get here. Fly into Bogota, then connect to Pasto then take a pretty long taxi ride.

Most things are in-call so you either need to rent something hourly or get a girl friendly place but since most of the nicer places have security that will know you pretty well since you will likely be the only foreigner.

You need decent Spanish here. My Spanish is probably around B1 level and I would say that is the minimum to get around here.

There is just about nothing to do here. I did all the attractions in the city in about 4. 5 hours and that was with walking for about 2 of them. If you like churches there are some beautiful ones here and there is a lake you can go to that is about an hour away as well as the volcano that towers over the city (but is a 8-10 hour hike) but that's really about it. A bunch of small plazas and museums are around but they are small and can generally be seen in 30 minutes each.

Food options are limited as it is not really a major international city. They don't even have a McDonalds here.

On weekdays just about everything (restaurants, bars, clubs) closes by 11 and on weekends things close by 2. Not exactly a nightlife kind of city but there appear to be some options.

You aren't going to see too many girls on the street by themselves. I usually see girls with their mothers which makes it awkward for me to approach.

Uber exists but is going to cost more than taxis and is very limited.

Overall:

I think there is potential here for those of you who can speak at least a reasonable level of Spanish, don't waste your time here if you at duolingo level. I would say it is a terrible place to vacation at beyond 2-3 days but if you work remotely like me, it is a cheap, not hot place where you can really ingratiate yourself to the local community. I am too young to know but maybe this was how Medellin was before certain people fucked it up. I'm going to visit Bogota for a bit after this but I may return here depending on if I can find the same quality. I think you can probably be here for around a month before running out of working girls (depending on your type) but probably can stick here longer if you are proficient and getting civvies as there are plenty of hot 16-25 yo girls here, though I'm not sure how difficult the are to pick up as it appears to be a smaller more conservative city.

Its on Carrera 6 close to Parque Lago. Closes at 10 or 11. I've never been to Parque Libertad late night. Been there a lot during the daytime. Always chicas hanging around. Once in a while theres a good one.

I remember Cr 8 having dollar stores and food outlets, not as a place for mongering. It would be interesting to tie down where this pool hall is located, as Pereira is a bit of a desert for late night mongers.

It was supposed to have night clubs / strip clubs, but they weren't open when I was there, twice. There was a bar / brothel about 400 M west of parc el lago on 8th past the grocery store that was open. The ratio of men to women was 3-1 and I found the quality / vibe poor enough to just turn around and walk out.

I found that if I wanted a high lay to day ratio, this wasn't the place. I nvr found a Massage Parlor, I did connect with 1 person on Mileroticos which took two cab rides to find her in the barrio.

Not to rub the town in the wrong way, it's got a great gritty workers vibe to it.

The first time I went there an old guy over 90 was spinning 78 RPM records from noon until whenever at his bar, which was cool. On the next trip he was replaced by a computer, which was not.

It's a short cab ride from the Airport, the weather is warm and it seems to rain in cycles. I'm thinking of revisiting this year, so recent reports would be appreciated.

I recall that this bar closed early, like 8 pm and I nvr did find a great late night hangout. The girls were great, I took one in the club and bar fined another.

I went at Christmastime and loved the vibe of the town, again keeping in mind the mongering seems to end early. I never spent much time at the Parc Libertad, but I've heard it's got some late night action.

When I was in Pereira earlier this year I came across this place (just down Carrera 8 from Parque El Lago), which just looked like an ordinary pool bar at first, except there were quite a few hot looking women walking into and sitting in it! At first I wasn't sure what was going on, but after I summoned the courage to go in, have a few beers and chatted to a couple I realised they were hookers. It's the only place I've come across in Pereira and even the whole of Colombia like that!

My question is are there other bars like this in Pereira? Or in the surrounding cities like Armenia and Manizales too? If you know of any others please let me know. So I just went down to Leticia, Amazonas which is the southernmost city of Colombia. It is on the border with Tabatinga, Brasil and across the Amazon river from Santa Rosa, Peru. In fact yesterday I was in all 3 countries within the same hour. I took a lancha for 5 mil pesos from Leticia to Santa Rosa Perú and then I took another lancha back but they dropped the Gabacho Locc off in Tabatinga Brazil and then he walked back to Leticia Colombia. All 3 borders are completely open and you can pass through into all 3 countries walking by boat or by moto or tuk tuk.

The area was very hot and humid. The people look mostly indigenous with short squatty features and big round heads with dark brown skin. I found some of the women attractive (in an exotic kind of way) but I didn't do any mongering there as I didn't see any women that struck me as prostitutes and didn't want to be disrespectful by asking normal women if they wanted to have sex.

The area seemed very poor especially on the Brazil and Peru sides. Leticia was definitely the more developed of the the 3 towns but it even seemed poor by normal Colombian standards.

I had an Inca Kola on the Peru side it was pretty good a tropical flavored gaseosa.

For people who are interested in traveling and adventures, from Santa Rosa, Peru you can take a 15 hour boat ride to this bigger city in the Peruvian Amazon called Iquitos and from Tabatinga you can take a boat to this other city in the Brazilian Amazon called Manaus.

They give you change in Brazilian Real instead of pesos and I later found out that the Brazilian Real are worth about 20% less than the Colombian pesos but the lanchas will accept either 5 mil pesos or 5 reales for the boat ride but once your back in Leticia the reales coins and bills are not equal to the their Colombian pesos counterparts and a tuk tuk driver refused to take them.

Make sure that you get a yellow fever vaccination and carry the little booklet with your passport migracion Colombia did ask for it along with my passport and checkmig at the Leticia airport.

The area is mainly Afro, it's on the coast, you can't drink the water, it's very very hot during the day, and it's run down. I don't think it's overly dangerous though.
