Also there's streetwalkers in the Parque Bolivar during daytime and at night. Shorttime hotels are close by, within walking distance. For a little adventure you can go to the zoo. Also outside the city there are hotspring spas at Santa Rosa de Cabral; a good way to relax during the daytime. Pereira is a safe, friendly place to hang out.

Anyone have any cool info for me? First time going to Pereira. Any good bar recommendations? I can still pick up amateur girls with pretty good success. Otherwise, cool places to eat, any good massage parlors / casas with chicas I should know about? Daytime activities?

Try Whiskeria Dona Tere. There's usually 10 chicas on site. Its a drinking mans bar, that has rooms in the back for sexo. Another thing in Pereira there's these 24 hour cafeterias in the downtown area. Go to the malls Bolivar Plaza, and Victoria, good places to hang out.

Do they both allow guests? Besides 2 girls I've known a while that may actually stay over, I plan on meeting and bringing back some different ones.

My buddy stayed at the Soratama and I stayed at the Abadia. The reason being two different hotels was I did not make a reservation and did not have my passport. I had only a copy and they would not accept it, but the other hotel did.

If you do not book online it will cost you more. Maybe $20 more..

Looking to take a trip to visit the "river of 5 colors" (I. E. Cao Cristales). Heard it's best to spend 3-4 days out there. Of course, it would be better if there was some action out there.

Non-Spanish speaker here (so picking up locals / non-pros) might be a bit of a stretch.

Thoughts?

Looks like an awesome place. My contact says there was guerrilla activity in the area in the not too distant past, but I don't believe it's a problem now.

Maybe you'll get lucky and run into a lonely backpacker.

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a return to Colombia next year and looking into places to visit. My friend in Bogota made several suggestions. When she suggested Manizales, I asked which was better, Pereira or Manizales.

She says Manizales is a prettier place, but the women are easier in Pereira. Made me chuckle.

The trip is 1/2 mongering and 1/2 tourism. The preliminary itinerary includes Bogota, Medellin, Nuqui, Manizales, Bucaramanga and Leticia. Subject to many changes.

That's one of those BYOP trips. I hiked LOS Nevados outside of Manizales. I really love the outdoors here. Getting to the river and back is a logistical headache. Please report back your experience of the place and travel details.

Information seems to be a little sparse on hotels for Cucuta. I was looking at the Holiday Inn. Has anyone stayed here before? Is it like Bogota where most hotels charge a chica fee?

Yes, I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cucuta a few years back. Great area and close to mall. Never had issues during the day. Can't say at night. I would just call them and ask.
