OK guys,

Could someone help clear something up for me? I am trying to figure out what the deal is with latinamericancupid, and romancelatina. I joined LAC, and found varied results. I hope I am using the correct forum to post this. I have traveled so many places in the last forty years it's hard to remember. This forum has been extremely helpful to me for the last eight years. I have made several posts. All of my international travel has been for pleasure not business. I am not a high roller and since I retired I am doing my best to spend my kids inheritance. In my forty years of travel an attempt to rob me has been made about six times. Twice money was taken from me. The last time was just a few months age in Buenos Aires and I was on a bust sidewalk. He didn't get much money maybe ten dollars. I bet there are other members that have had the same experience. Your walking down the sidewalk and out of nowhere someone comes up behind you and sticks his hands in your pocket and relieves you of your money. This isn't really a pickpocket. He doesn't care if you are aware of what he's doing, it happens so fast you don't have time to react. In this incident the weather was cool and I had most of my money in my inside jacket pocket.

So how do you protect yourself. Never carry your passport I don't care what the current wisdom is if the police stop you-something that has never happened to me, just tell them your passport is in your hotel room. If they give you any trouble just say this. I am personal friends with Hotrod 10. After a few days in jail I'm sure someone will bail you out. Did I mention the wallet. Never carry your wallet. When I had my wallet stolen it was my first night in the city I was exhausted after a ten hour flight and I just wasn't thinking.

When the sun goes down take a cab. If you are in a restaurant or bar just tell the bartender or someone that you need a cab. Don't make the same mistakes that I made.
