Most of the streets here look like the day after the Zombie Apocalypse, everyone is gone. So, since I am not here for shopping, I took the Metrovia from the airport area down to the city center, and then a $3 taxi to La 18, which was packed with idiots spraying shaving cream and throwing pails of water on passers by. And the men were worse.

The quality of ladies was generally pretty low, lots of women over 50, lots simply undoable except under duress, but I noticed some gems here and there, especially by the Arco Iris bar. I am surmising that price is a function of supply and demand, with the cheapest prices for the older ladies and the more desirable girls charging more. Is that the case?

I also walked around looking for some of the bars on the list but everything was closed and there were no signs where bars were supposed to be.

Anyone that has read the last few pages of this forum might have read my report on La 18 from over 2 years ago. I wrote about my first p4p experiences in a looong time. Armed robberies are not that uncommon here.

So off I go, it's easy getting a cab and it costs me 3 dollars to get to LA 18. During the 15 minute ride I start to wonder if there will be any girls and how many guys will be there. Suddenly a horn sounds and the guards start letting people in. When it's almost my turn the guy in front gets rejected. Can't really see why but I guess his ID is not in order. I show my passport to the guard and half expect to be rejected too, but he is not even surprised I'm here. He just checks my date of birth and lets me through. Another guard pats me down and I'm inside.

Wow, this place has changed for the better. It's great to see security has gone up, I also saw some cops patrolling the street. The guys that visit seem to be less rough and I did not feel uneasy. I had no problem getting in and it seems other gringo's have discovered this place too. Do notice that opening hours are now 11 am too 8 pm from Monday to Saturday. When I was waiting in line there was a delivery being made at the other wall which they openend up and I got a good look inside. That side surely had less good looking girls and not many men were lining up there anyway so I did not go to that side of the street. Make sure you bring your passport or ID card, I think bringing a copy will not get you inside but I did not try. Girls are 12 bucks a pop, I don't know about drinks, I did not feel like beer right now and I think they are having a hard time selling booze since I did not see any other guys drinking. They really cleaned it up in a way that there are no drunks and beggars inside the walls. I would still not go there after dark although I'm sure LA 18 is safe but the surrounding area I think is not. I would definetly return there again next time, hopefully it will be sooner than 2 years from now. No need for wingmen anymore, going solo is perfectly fine. Speaking spanish will help tremendously though as nobody speaks english.

I was recently in Guayaquil for work and had a late evening and one afternoon free to indulge. Using the information from previous reports, I went to Luxury Spa which was less than 10 minutes by taxi from the Hotel Sonesta where I stayed. This place was a bit tricky to find. On the right side look for an address plaque that says Garzota MZ 134 with a big wrought iron gate in front. This is the place.
