Peru also has the same dry law during elections though I do not think it lasts for three days but only for the voting day. I believe other SA countries also have this ridiculous law. I think in the past it was possible to bribe inenebriated non-voters to vote for a candidate in exchange for alcohol.

I don't know if this is common in Latin America. People here finds it obvious and natural: "yes, claro, there are elections, alcohol is forbidden for 3 days, why are you surprised?". They don't understand that this is the only country I have ever seen in my life where I cannot have a beer at dinner because two days later there are elections. That is simply CRAZY.

As a result, in one week here I did not visit ANY place. I don't know if Salomé is still there, if there is El Gato, etc. I don't know how La 18 became like. All these nights, I simply walked along 9 Octubre after midnight, more to relax than to find girls. Its incredible that guys are going to South America and paying $35 for sex. There are dozens of places in Queens alone where they charge $35 for chicas. Why pay a $900 plane ticket, hotel, then tip a guy $20 bucks to find you a chica spot?
