The point is that Google Maps seems not exact in depicting and naming those streets.
My understanding, today, is that "La 18" is a segment of Calle Salinas, closed with walls, intersected by "Brasil", parallel to Av. 17 Milagro.
What we cannot see on Google Maps is that that segment is closed by walls at the two ends. However, the intersecting street is Brasil and it is parallel to Av. 17 Milagro (checked with my eyes!)

Posts: 2513Some more precise information
Sorry, I know I may sound unpleasant, but I want to add some correction and more precise information to an otherwise appreciable report.
While I am becoming more acquainted with Guayaquil, I know how much confusion I had the first days, just because reports were not pointing out things exactly.
I already wrote the exact address of "Salamane" (now I even doubt it is its correct name).

I am very bored!
I find nothing. SWs are old and ugly, at least in places I listed in my previous post, that is where they were reported in this forum.
I finish work, I go to dinner and it's almost midnight. Salamane closes at midnight.
I don't want to go to La 18 for the first time in the night. I want to get acquainted first at daytime.
This forum is quiet and silent. I am the only one writing.
ANY KIND SOUL CAN WRITE ME A PM OR A POST AND TELL ME WHAT COULD I DO?
Any suggestion is welcome. Any places with younger SWs here?

Posts: 2513My first night in Guayaquil
This is my first time in Guayaquil. 5 years ago, I spent 4 days in Quito. It was my first experience in Latin America and the mythical posts of Tungurahua (shame on who does not know who is he) led me in my first night explorations of streets in South America. What a thrill entering 3 Stars the first time!
After the due RTFF and having studied all info reported here in the last 2-3 years, tonight I started my exploration after dinner at 9pm.
I started with a long walk around the places reported with SWs (but in 2009). Maybe 2 years is a long time, but the places looked not so unsafe to me as they were reported, besides being totally empty of WGs.
10 De Agosto from Malecon to Quito and Machale: nothing, not even scary characters as depicted in the past reports.
Parque Centenario and streets around: 3 (three!) SW, not appealing at all. 3 TVs on Machala.
9 De Octubre: nothing.
At least here downtown, the place does not look unsafe at all. Walking the Centro of Medellin at midnight gives a different thrill.
I ended at Salamane (read the post about its address).
It's a typical Ecuadorian chongo bar at middle / low level, like some I remember in Quito. Patrons ranged from college students (LOL! Yes so they looked) , to a couple of men with jacket and tie, to the usual borrachos.
Entrance fee: 3$ (maybe because I enter after 10pm?). I give 5$ and the man gives me back 2 tickets with 1$ value each, worth 1 beer each.
Girls are not bad, although well seasoned to the job (Sorry, if you read my latest posts from Batam you see how much I like SYTs there. Here, it's another planet: forget all that).
As it happened sometimes, being patient, I meet a girl who is much better than the place: a typical Ecuadorean, with nice sweet smile. 21yo, great body and perfect firm tits, professional but not sleazy and not even mechanical.
Girl fee: 12. 50$. I give 20$ and the girl keeps 7. 50$ as tip. I did not want to argue, because it's cheap and I hoped in a better service.
And so it was: a good experience. 3 positions, care and pampering!
PS: The room is one of the seediest places I ever saw. It compares with a room I remember in Uganda and the rooms in 3 Starts Quito. 4k rooms in El Centro de Medellin are better! Fortunately, the girl brought a clean sheet to put on the bed. We both were very careful to NOT put our feet on the ground without shoes.

I do appreciate your reports in this thread, but this time your firm claim above misled me.
Salamane is on Av. 5 NE (Riobamba) between CL. 3 NO (Quisquis) and CL. 2 NE (Rendòand).
Actually, Av. 5 SE (Garcia Aviles) ends 1 block before Quisquis. Almost in front of it, Av. 5 NE (Riobamba) begins. It's ALMOST its continuation.

Posts: 2513I found La 18 on the map! (maybe)
I see a crowd of members rushed to answer my question.
Only BL tried to help. Thank you BL!
(I am frankly disappointed: everybody just takes a taxi, totally disregarding WHERE the taxi is actually taking them? )
La 18 is NOT where I previously pointed my attention or where BL has suggested. That is another "Calle 18". There are various Cl. 18 in GYE.
I think that the correct address to look for on Google Maps is:
Callejón Diesiocho, Guayaquil
That place must be the right one, because it is intersected by a perpendicular street and is also close to a Calle Salinas.
Any kind member might confirm or confute my claim above? Is that the place?
Thank you.

You wrote "Callejóand 18" (actually, the forum text parser changes our writing to Callejóand !! It did it also to me!) but indeed the address should be "Callejón 18".
I looked for that address on Google Maps. I am not convinced about the result. On Google Maps:
- I see a clear mismatch between the photo and the map (the Callejóand 18 does not coincide with a calle on the photo).
- Moreover, you too remember a perpendicular street crossing, while nobody mentioned the river close to La 18.
==> Therefore, I have some significant doubt that the location we see on Google Map is the right one. Can anybody help me to find out the actual location of La 18 on the map? Thank you!

Sorry to ask an obvious question for everyone here.
Yes, I RTFF and nowhere I found a hint on how to locate it on the map. OK, I know I can just take a taxi, but I'd like to know where it is before going.
Thanks!
