    Guayaquil Report - Tourist part

    (tourist pics attached)

arrived on friday nite 7/27 to a very nice, clean, modern airport; only lima’s airport rivals this one; very functional, well-lit and well-spaced; caught an official taxi out front; cost $5 to my hotel in centro (downtown)

taxis - i found that most taxis charge the $5 to/from airport; from my hotel to zona rosa or the malecon, approx. 10 blocks away - $1.50-$2.00; to club fizz; $3 to calle 18; $3-5 to duran (imperio/el gato) in the day

hotel rizzo – stayed there for 2 nights with the matrimonial weekend special (3 days, 2 nights, including all meals for a total of $80usd for two people); with this special, no overnight guest fee charged; located a block away from parque seminario on av. clemente ballén 319 y chile (www.rizzohotel.com); i found it okay, but i wasn’t all too satisfied with my room (312); too small, over-used bed as one side was worn-out; hot water was promised, but not working most of the weekend; the restaurant was unfamiliar with the matrimonial weekend package which had to be cleared up each time i went there, and then the food was lacking; the staff was cool, but i found a better place to stay, right across the street

hotel plaza – st. rafael. – av. chile 414 y clemente ballen (www.hotelplazasr.coom) ; located down the block from the best western and one block away from parque seminario; around the corner from centro commercial unicentro; single room costs $25/nite; double $30; a/c, cable, and hot water in each room; breakfast included in cost; best of all, free high-speed wi-fi in the cafeteria; staff was cool; got my laundry done for free there; very guest-friendly

note: avoid room 103, very dilapidated, not representative of the two other rooms that i personally visited there

parque seminario – “parque de las iguanas” – a lazy public park located in the middle of downtown which has been turned into a sanctuary for a group of iguanas that made it home and wouldn’t leave; now, it’s a tourist attraction for both foreigners and natives; the city has embraced it and maintain the park daily; the iguanas are very docile and playful creatures, esp. with kids; sometimes even hams for the cameras; worth checking out

hotel sol de oriente - 1st floor – spa oriente – sauna/massages/hair stylist/facils/etc – normal massages with no “happy endings”; $12/30 mins - jessica/nubia (both i'd rate no more than a 6; both around 28-30 yo); since the masajistas only make $0.60 (that’s right) per 30 min. massage, and since the place is closed on sundays, they are willing to meet you at your hotel for massages; you must be discreet in this fashion; i set up an appointment for a 1 hour massage in my hotel for sunday at noon for $30; i got a great massage plus full service; unsure whether that’s normal, but i got it nonetheless

malecon 2000 – renovated modern boardwalk; mostly populated by families and groups; nothing too special, but if in guayaquil and bored; a good place to just hang out

resaca – restaurant on the malecon; reasonable happy hour prices 2 for 1 drinks and appetizers, nice view, normal crowd; decent place but not as much traffic as i would have hoped for

barrio las peñas - houses down the hill – i climbed the 444 steps to the top to get to the lighthouse; legs hurt like shit after i came back down; worth the trip, but i'd recommed you stretch before tackling it; saw a couple of cuties who lived up there; didn’t approach as i was already sucking wind

malecon de salado – located on av 9 de octubre past amadeus boat (about 3-4 blocks); more local than tourists; generally local musical performances and couples/families down there; not much to do there; if bored; check it out; no need to make a special trip here

el colonial - bar en la zona rosa - happening, reasonable drink prices during happy hour

piranha - around the corner from el colonial to left

cc san marino - us priced mall down the street from club fizz - plenty of well-to-do folks here on wkd - and chicks

club fizz – located about 15 mins away from downtown; $5 taxi ride at night; $15 cover charger to enter, but with admission to a smaller bar next to disco; upscale crowd; very reasonable drink prices, as i had 2 glasses of old parr whiskey, 2 red bulls, a bottle of water, and a pack of cigs all for under $20; crowd was mostly young 18-25 yo; pretty friendly chicas in groups and with dates; had my pro detector up and think i spotted a couple but lost them in the crowd; after dancing, retired to the smaller bar across the walkway; had another drink, then headed back out to play at amadeus

    next up, the monger scene

I am looking forward to your latest report Hoof Hunter.

I was in QYE last year and found a beautiful lady at the Stock Market that stayed with me for the two nights I was there. She told me her days off were after the night I met her, so we made arraingements! She was from Columbia and apparently there was an effort to rid GYE of girls there without permits, so I will need some new talent next trip.

I will be back in GYE this coming October and would certainly like a recent view from someone that has experianced more places than I had a chance to.

    Masseuse?

    Hoof,

Where'd you get a masseuse in Guayaquil? Enquiring minds want to know!

  4. #217

    Thx fellas

I'll do a full report later in the week. Just returned from Guayaquil this morning. Need to get my legs back under me . The ISG forum was pretty helpful, but I think I might be able to fill in some holes, based on my experience.

I'll hit topics likes Imperio, El Gato, Calle 18, El Surburbio (don't go), Amadeus, Fizz and the adjoining bar, Isla del Tesoro (sp?), La Habana, Mall del Sol, CC San Marino, Malecon 2000, Las Peñas, the bars of Zona Rosa, economical hotels like Hotel Rizzo and the better option - Hotel Plaza across the street, etc. Just bear with me as I get it all organized. No pics however.

UrbanSeven - Check out Amadeus. $10 cover, includes a $6 credit towards drinks, but by far, the best talent I saw, across the board. Check for "La Colombiana" named Sandy. You'll know her when you see her. Blondish, light-skinned paisa, great body, cute face, high energy, very popular, cool personality. On-site will run you $30-50. TLN will cost you at least $80-100 + salida, more if no Spanish. But, there are ways around that price. Amadeus opens from 9pm - 2am or 3am.

Quick note to anyone headed to GYE: on Sunday nights (after 9pm), absolutely nothing is open. No bars, very, very few restaurants. No P4P, including Imperio and El Gato. It got so bad, I couldn't even order a beer or a drink in the Hampton Inn casino (wasn't staying there, but it was open). Something like a dry law. Therefore, plan ahead.

On a brighter note, on Sunday, I did manage to screw my masseuse (maybe a 6.5, but spoke English) back in my hotel for free (well, the price of lunch and cab ride home). LOL!!!

All in all it was a fun time. Their strippers come down in an elevator. Kinda funny. But if in search for hot pussy, Seriously hit up the Imperio. I don't know about la calle 18 though. But I am sure I might hit that cherry wearing columbia ass before I leave Tuesday. I might be heading out to selinas tonight. Don't know yet. But if any brothers in arms are in guayaquil or salinas, let a brother know. Or if anyone knows a great light skinned escort with a great set of tits. EMAIL ME: the

    Doom speaks

While it is not common to find working girls working in Clubs, Fizz seemed to have and abundance of them mainly I think because it is the best club in the whole city, although a any medium size club in the US would put this club to shame.
The main type of music they play in this club seems to be dance-trance type music there is another area for the salsa type people the working girls seem to congregate around the VIP areas or just roamoing around they don't dress any differently than the average chic in the club, the surprise will come when you think a really hot girl wants to be with you because you are so HOT!!! and want to do you because of your James Bond like charm the surprise will come when you go to the hotel room and they want anywhere from 60-100 for their services, I guess that's how the game goes.

Can anyone name a few of these establishments in Guayaquil in the "entertainment" districts? I'm thinking of normal bars where working girls are accepted, as well as bars where all of the girls are working, but without the salida fee.

Someone (maybe Doom a while back) mentioned Discoteca Fizz, located at Av. Francisco de Orellana in front of the World Trade Center building. Any further details (prices, music, type of crowd, best times, etc.)? Any other place like this? I enjoy hanging out late. For example, Help in Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza and the now-defunct Mr. Babillas in Bogota, Tequila Rocks in Lima, etc....

Also, any target-rich bars/restaurants/discos where non-pros chicas are friendly, in abundance, and agreeable to hooking up?
    Hoof Hunter,

I'm looking for the same type of action. I'll be in guayaquil for the first time August 11-15 after an overnighter in Panama. I'm considering booking with rizzo hotel also. Please report back on your trip and successes! Good luck with everything!

I would take a domestic flight anywhere in Ecuador that is not within 2-3 hours by bus. One way tickets are about 60 dollars almost anywhere in the country from Quito.

Bus service is available all over the place, but it is a long and sometimes scarry ride. A bus from Quito takes 8 hours compared to a flight which only takes 45 minutes to reach Guayaquil. Last year I took a bus to Otavalo from Quito, and I sure would not want to go anywhere further than that. I had ideas of traveling by bus (because of the cheap prices), but after the bus ride to and from Otavalo (3hrs), I decided against it.

As long as you have the money, I would take a plane.

    Quito to/vs. Guayaquil

I'm going to be in Quito for 6 days over Labor Day. What is the fastest and cheapest way to get between the two cities. I'll be with three other guys, one of whom speaks fluent Spanish.

Also, I've some differences between what the two cities have to offer. Is it worth the trip to Guayaquil, or is Quito the best spot for mongoring?

  11. #210

    Thanks

I made the reservation with the Rizzo. Weekend rate of $80 for 2 nites, 3 days for a matrimonial room (2 persons/no guest fee).

I might have a chick from Quito meet me in Guayaquil and spend time with me, but I'll be sure to monger around, at least to look, and will report back to the board.

    Thx to all!!!

It is to my understanding that guayaquil is a bit more costly than quito but I havent been yet so I dont know. Quito is fantasy land as far as prices go so enjoy it while you can. Who knows how long that will last.

Just gathering options now, and still have the 4-star/5-star list to fall back on. Worse comes to worst, I'll splurge.

I'm interested in DOING Guayaquil and being able to make a honest assessment of it against Quito.

    Guayaquil Help Needed

I've read the forum pretty extensively, but still am left with a couple of questions. I'm planning a trip for end-July/early August. Need a break from the Quito altitude.

    1. Hotels - Seems like this question keeps coming up without any definitive answers to it? Can you recommend any hotels in the $20-$40/night range that are completely guest-friendly (no extra fees if booking a double), clean, secure, a/c, and hot water? Not looking for a backpacker hostel, nor a love motel. I'm not trying to sleep in a love motel, even this grimy monger has a limit. LOL!!!

As an example, I usually stayed at Hotel Othello in Quito for $25/night all in, and it's located in a safe area on the main road through Quito (Amazonas) one block away from the Hilton Colon.

The only two mentioned that apparently come closest are the Best Western and Hostal Quil. Any others???

    2. Non-pro clubs and working-girl friendly bars. Can you name a few of these establishments in Guayaquil in the "entertainment" districts? I'm thinking of normal bars where working girls are accepted, as well as bars where all of the girls are working, but without the salida fee. Someone mentioned Fizz. Any further details? Any others?

For example, Help in Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza and the now-defunct Mr. Babillas in Bogota, Tequila Rocks in Lima, etc....

    Thanks in advance.
