Got into Quito about 10 days ago. I've been reading the past posts about the Quito chongos so I thought I'd give them a try.

I first went to 122. Google maps was about 75 meters off (it's closer to Calle Bolivia than San Gregorio. Anyways, got there early (around noon). I was wandering if anyone has had any success using the Google map from report # 1790 (Quito page # 26). Tungurahua posted that report in January of 2009 and credited Full Throttle with the initiative, and someone updated it six days ago. In particular, I was wandering if anyone has used an iphone to sucessfully navigate to the chongos from the map. I'm not sure what kind of accuracy the iphone would have in Quito. In La Niña 270 is a chongo which has a long history, in the good years named "Las Diosas". But those good years indeed are history. OK, I checked it out. There is no more "Contactos" nor "Eroticos" section. I emailed Mundoanuncio and they replied as follows:

"Con el fin de orientar nuestro sitio al intercambio entre vendedores why compradores, Mundoanuncio ha suprimido la categoría de Contactos."

Translation: Our site is focusing more on buyers and sellers, so we removed the Contacts category.

If anyone knows where all the chicas went to post their ads, I'd appreciate that info.

Stopped by Kalua today (a Wednesday) on 10 de Agosto. At 1. 00 pm it was CLOSED. However, the young guy at the Gold Hotel (adjacent) told me they were open, walked out with me to show me the entrance, and was surprised to see that it was closed up and locked.
