OK Nibs, here’s some follow-up.

Baeza: about the only claim to fame for Baeza is that it’s on the way to Tena from Quito. There is regular bus service. The road is sketchy though, especially from Quito – downhill the whole way. I only passed through so didn’t learn anything about the sex trade. The town seems too small to have much of a selection.

Tena: pretty small, but good-sized for a jungle outpost. The population is probably around 20,000, the majority of which are Chichua Indian. The town is divided into half by a couple of rivers, the Tena and another one that I can’t remember the name of. The northern part of town is cleaner, safer, and nicer. Plenty of taxis on either side

I didn’t survey the brothel situation, but opted to have a taxista guide me to a service provider. He took me to a residential house in a shanty neighborhood and knocked on the door. A guy answered, they talked, the guy went inside and a woman came out. I watched all of this from the car, but it appeared the guy was pimping out his wife or sister or something. But hey, who am I to complain? I had the taxista drop us at a bar so I could talk to her for a little while first. She was actually very nice and kind of shy, doing the semi-pro thing to make ends meat. We had a few beers then walked to a small dive hotel for a room, which cost me $1. She was very inexperienced and I felt like I had to romance her a little, with foreplay and the whole bit to put her at ease. I guess she had to justify the fact that she was going to fuck me. She even drew a little cross over her face before insertion. I didn’t even ask her what she charged, just gave her a $20 because I felt sorry for her. By her reaction of gratitude, I’m sure it’s more than she’d ever received before. Also, she looked Indian, but didn’t speak anything but Spanish.

I stayed at Yutzos, which looked like the nicest hotel in town, but was in the shitty south end. I also had a delicious trout pizza, I know trout pizza sounds awful, but it was the best fucking pizza I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t remember the name of the restaurant but it has a large open dining area with a thatched roof, unfortunately, so do most of the places there.

Archidon: small colonial town by Tena. It’s got to be the misguided missionary capital of the oriente. No action here, just tons of bible thumping.

Misahualli: remote port at the Napo and Misahualli Rivers, much closer to Tena than Puyo. It’s nothing more than a tourism outpost for jungle tours and lodges. Your best bet here would be other tourists. I’ve run in to several females traveling in pairs but seem to never score due to me being alone, thus not having a companion to occupy the uglier of the two, and my usually limited time constraints. The bus ride from Tena is only $1.

Puyo: I’ve never been to Puyo and heard there’s nothing there. Although its large population-wise, there’s not much commerce and less tourism than, so there’s not likely ample services that cater to our kind of service needs. I guess you'll have to go and verify.

Lago Agrio: This place is a dump. Theres only one hotel with a generator (the power plant shuts down at night). Its all white, on the far end of town, heading away from the airport. I was originally in one of the central hotels, but got tired of waking up with moss on my nuts from sweating so bad at night with no A/C. Chica action is slim. All of the best looking locals already have boyfriends (more men than women in this town due to the oil camps). The only ***** house is outside, way outside of town and the *****s are old and worn out. Price was only $3, but it felt like a couple of other dicks could've fit in there with me and it still would've been loose. Also very, very dangerous. It seemed like every other person had on a hammer & sickle or a Che' t-shirt. I got approached on several occasions to check my nationality. Of course I lied every time but still got the evil-eye from everybody. This place isn't worth it.

Raphael, Stay away from Esmereldes and Porto Viejo, these are dangerous cities. Matter of fact stay away from the border of Columbia. There are many kidnappings of Americans there by the drug cartels. I lived in the port city of Manta for four months and there are a few brothels around one is called El Puente and there are about two more nearby on the outskirts of Manta on your way to Montecristi. Any taxi driver will know where to take you. I don't know if you speak Spanish ( I didn't) it's not necessary, but it helps. It costs about 2 - 3 dollars (they use american currency there) for a BJ and probably an additonal buck for straight sex. Don't be suprised if the only girls that give oral are butt ugly. When I was down in Guayaquil (18th Ave) the most beautiful girls I saw there (which was only a handful) wouldn't give BJ's! Keep in mind, these places I mentioned are very sleazy, but you can meet a girl fairly easy in Manta on the beach or in one of the local bars (Baja Beach, Katcho's, Bantu's etc) and they are fairly easy to get into bed. Once they know your an american you're in! However, expect to pay the "gringo" price wherever you go. Good luck and let us know how it turned out.
