If you have a lot of moving around to do, rent a taxi by the hour. The cost is $1500 GYD /7. 50 USD per hour. Do not pay anymore than that. HOTEL Taxis are a RIPOFF! I know many reputable and knowledgeble drivers here just contact me when you are coming.

Cost per trip within Georgetown is $300 to $400 GYD /$1.50 to $2.00 USD per trip costs outside of the city limits can get expensive and most of the mongering places are within the city limits so there is no need to pay more than that.

Renting a car is by far the most cost effective. Costs range from $5000 GYD /$25.00 USD to $10000 GYD /$50 USD for the day (24 Hours) most require a deposit of around $250.00 USD. Make sure you take pictures of the car and point out every single dent! Before Driving away or you will loose your deposit when you return for some dent that was there before you rented the car.

If you rent a car, and you're driving a lot, a full tank of gas ($50 USD on average) will last you two days.

Minibuses are the cheapest form of transportation. (60 GYD /30 cents USD) however the drivers are reckless. Only do this if its part of a sightseeing tour with a hot young piece of ass and she recommends it.

    Cricket Competition

Is there any extra action for the cricket competition? How are the Indian girls now? I have been there a few times and it was always a good time. I suppose for the competition there will be more action. Any new reports?

    Getting There

Just checking it out. You can fly from JFK to Georgetown for about $500 RT on "North American Airlines" direct 5.5 hr flight.

Georgetown is the only real city in the country. Taxi's cheap and reliable.

About 190 Guyanese dollars to 1 US which is apparently still a good exchange rate in buying power.

50% Hindu, 35% African, significant native, populations.

English is the official language and is widely spoken.

    Very hot and humid.

How dangerous is it? It's not Haiti. Is Georgetown much more dangerous than Santo Domingo?
