Update on Paraguay

After 6 days in Asuncion, I may say that this is a quite underrated city. The country is incredibly underdeveloped, taking into account that the neighbors Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Southern Brazil are more culturally developed than the rest of Latin America. Seems to be a Central America country fallen in the heart of the Mercosur.

As many of the previous posters state, the street scene in Palma and Estrella st. is abundant, cheap and of reasonable quality after 8 pm. Prices are as quoted, 50000 (8 US) for a quickie, and 100000 for an hour and a half. A nice lady offered me to include the hotel rate (30000) in her quotation, so perhaps there is room for bargaining. As the street action is not my cup of tea, I tried systematically the available references: Karim Club (just ask every cabman ), Asun Rock, (Estigarribia 985 c/ Estados Unidos); Le Bacan Club (Alejo Garcia 1576 c/A. Lopez) ; Chopperia del Puerto (Palma c/ Garibaldi); Café Cito (Colon c/Oliva); the billiard bars in Oliva c/Colon.
A brief summary:
Karim: when a customer arrives, a bell rings and all the girls must go to stage to perform a halfhearted dance, mostly young and ranging from 6 to 8´s . There are on site facilities and prices are 240 (40 US) in house and 400 (63US) to go. An hour and a half was customary for hotel visits. Drinks are 10 tho. (1.5 US) for the customer and 20 (3 US) for the girl. A lot of barracudas, even though as the Paraguayan style is mostly gentle, we can label them as “mild” barracudas.
Asun Rock (and I think that Faces Pub in Brasilia st. is the same) is a regular pub, lots of young people, and with time and luck you can catch semi-pros (at least as per reference of a friend, I didn’t have the time).
Le bacan club: very low quality, bordering a massage parlor, with a poor parade of girls and then you choose. Begins to work at 10pm.
Chopperia del Puerto and Café Cito: pick-up places after 10 pm with a not so good proportion m/f (5/1) and many regular couples. Also a place for semi and non pros, provided you have the time and the abilities (male, gringo and dollars are good enough). No English spoken anywhere.
Billiard clubs in Oliva from Colon to Montevideo st.: very low end brothels, very low prices, I didn’t tried the quality because I was already satisfied (I will explain later), but I saw some nice girls if you are man enough to venture yourself inside. Bring your own condoms everywhere.
That brings us to the places I discovered and were my favorites. As I was staying at the Granados park (very nice, quite expensive but excellent and GF), in my first night I decided to try Playboy club, 14 de Mayo c/Oliva. Nicer than Karim, expensive by Asuncion standards (20 th. Guaranies every drink), but good quality. In my first visit I hooked up with Silvia, not pretty by Western standards, a typical guarani girl, very sweet and good singer and dancer. She sung romantic songs, and then asked me to dance with her, and seeing her convinced me that her dynamics were far much better than her looks. I paid the club fee (60.000 , 10 US) to go, and out we went to my hotel. She told me that she had to ask 100 US but accepted that this was not real. I told her that she was worth way more than that, but I had only 40 US, and perhaps that was not enough for her, making her smile and say that she liked me so much that she would go for free, hadn’t she the need to bring money to her children. So I found she was also intelligent enough to exchange diplomatic “finesses”. She was delighted with my hotel room, and had very complete GFE, FK, BBBJ, and then different positions, until nice, real (or perfectly faked, who cares) synchronic coming. Can somebody tell me whether seats are available at short notice in Sao Paulo bound for Asunción (normal price, which I expect to be around 300USD), or whether there's a risk of being stuck for days on end in Sao Paulo without flying opportunity to Ascunción?

The bus trip seems all right for Ciudad del Este but not for Asunción.

I have the feeling flight availability is going to be the limiting factor for this country.
