    Eating in Cusco

I did chew some leaf and had some tea. Maybe it helped a little. Don't you need some lime with the leaf to have any effect? I was really only in bad shape the first night. Headache, short of breath and despite all the rain, very dry air. I also did everything wrong. Within an hour of landing, I went on the afternoon ruins tour which was uphill from Cusco. Then after that, I drank a bottle of Malbec at a restaurant. Stupid.

I doubt Maria even remembers me, but you could refresh her memory by taking her out to Cafe Tortoni for some food . . . JaJa.

But Cusco has some interesting eating options . . . cuy and alpaca.

The cuy is served in the tradional manner - with head and legs attached. Not much meat on those little boney legs, but you can suck the head for some rich "brain meat". Skin was tough and rubbery - like a lot of the girls I date. Overall, not bad but not my favorite dish. Somewhere between rat and nutria . . .

On the other hand, the roast alpaca was great. Especially the babys. Yeah, they cry out for their mothers when you first throw them on the grill, but that is some good eating. It's the "other" white meat. Plus they're so damn cute. Highly recommended.

Most everything - food, alpaca clothes, etc, is more expensive in Cusco than in Lima. If you plan on buying a few trinkets or hats or sweaters, you can find the same stuff in Lima cheaper.

    Cheers, -P

    3 Days in Cusco

I have just left Cusco after 3 days of seeing MachuPicchu and the other ruins. The altitude there kicked my ass and I`m not sure why. Spent almost a month in Quito Ecuador and had no problems.

I have to concur that Cusco is not a place to go for pro-chicas. Initally an interesting town, but you tire of it quickly. Lima is 100 times better for sex. There are lots of girls handing out leaflets for massage and they seem for all the world like typical SWs, hustling up johns on the street. But no - they really are legit massage girls with documents and real skills. For 30 s an hour ($10) they are the best bargain in this town. Been with 3 of them and liked them all. Sweet and a little goofy, but worth the $10. This would be $45-$80 back home, plus with all the walking you will need the attention. Worth your 30 soles.

Go to Cusco to see the sights. 3-4 days max. Go to Lima for the chicas.

Its worh a trip, only a short hop from Lima. I lived in Lima a bit, and i love Trujillo, not as much quantity, but much more quality.

Hi Jugador (or someone that can advise),

Although I live in the south of Spain, winters here are still too cold for me, so I am looking to stay in Peru for, maybe, 4 or 5 months, starting in October.

Do you think Trujilla is a good place to stay?

I am 57 years old, look 50, act 40. Fit, slim - still cool, more or less! I would like a regular woman or three to keep me company on a rotating basis; or maybe a housekeeper with extras. Sexy is more important than nubile. I would prefer a wild 40 year old to an inexperienced 20. (Most of the time!)

My ideal would be to rent a small studio with a terrace in a safe area. A small town near Trujillo, perhaps.

I am flexible, the most important element in a diet of non-stop sexual pleasure...

Possible? How much would I need to survive? Is it possible on 1000 euro - -about 1500$ - each month. I am not a bar-person; I prefer a bottle of wine on the terrace with a lovely woman.

    Your advice would be invaluable.

    thanks
Lima is far better than Trujillo for sex with non-putas or putas.

But i've always been smitten by the beauty of the Trujillianas.

I've found the chicas in el Norte mas bonita.

But Lima is way more fun.

    Civid,

Great directions to the hostal. You couldn't ask for a better location. I met Dulce and she was indeed sweet. She was the only one there at the time I went. I too would like to know if there might be any other places like that so close to downtown.

    Thanks for posting that gem.

Try the Hotel Cristina. It is a block from the square and I when I brought chicas back there, the manager just smiled. The suite is only $5 more per night than the small room and is much nicer.

My main concern is hotels. I want to stay close to the center of town, but am afraid I won't be able to bring women up to my room. Any advice?

    Thanks!

    Cusco in Feb

Thanks for the great info especially about the last flight. LB, you and a few others have put Peru on the ISG map. I'm only getting about four nights total in Lima and Cusco which means I won't get to see much.

Figure 40-50 degrees with cold nights and mornings. Do not book the last flight back to Lima as it is often canceled for bad weather. Decameron should be open!
