Where have you been all this time? As you can see, the Lima forum has gone cold.

Absolutely agree 100% about the "LOS Delfines" hotel. They have security all over.

One time I had a young lady meet me at the restaurant and after grabbing a bite to eat, we headed towards the elevators.

Before we could get in, security asked me to go to the front desk where I was informed, as if I had committed a crime, that I had to pay for an additional person on the room, eve if it was for a short time.

Their customer service stinks anyway.

I published a long very negative report and I will never return.

The seals at Palomino Islands are not really seals but actually Sea Lions, I can't tell the difference but they are supposedly a related although different species; in Peru we call them Lobos Marinos (Sea Wolves).

The first time I went it was kind of scary. You have hundreds of seals surrounding you, that smell badly, barking loud as fuck, and it was colder then.

Last time I was in Lima my girlfriend wanted to go there. I told her that I was not about to go over there fucking with those stankin ass seals. I am a scuba diver so I am not intrigued by a pack of shitty seals.

Bring flippers and goggles. They don't offer either, as they want you to let the seals nibble your toes. In my group no one got a toe nibble, but everyone got tossed around by the surf. I am also a fat gringo that swims in cold mountain rivers pretty regular so I skipped the wet suit as well and it was no problem. Bring a towel. I personally would skip the life jacket and wetsuit (maybe they force you to wear the life jacket) and use flippers and goggle because there are tons of seals swimming under your feet below the water. Even more than above the water. Also they smell like the inside of a public toilet. You will smell them before you see them.

That's great advice, BB, and I wish I had done as you did, but if someone just read your post and not the title, they wouldn't see your saying seeing the seals are a must. Also, just to clarify in case it scares people, when the seals nibble your toes, and that happened the first time I went, it is because they want to play with you, and it doesn't hurt.

When I went a second time in their summer, I understood that this was just like having loads of hundred pound puppies barking that have no intention of hurting you and just wanting to play. I was much more comfortable but it may have been that other tours tired the seals out or the waves were stronger, but the seals weren't as eager to play. It still was awesome though, and it is something that is truly unforgettable.

There are a lot, and I mean a lot of online sites where to find working girls in Lima.

There are the ad pages for escorts like KinesTops, Placeres del Peru, [CodeWord900] VIP, Amorosas del Peru, Photokines, Kines Economicas, Chicas Delivery, Kines Complacientes. And I could go on for a long while. I won't post the links because they always get edited off in my posts so it is a loss of time.

Also there are the regular ad pages like Locanto, Ciudad Anuncios, W Anuncios, Lima Mas Anuncios etc. Etc. Etc. These sites still have a personal ads section like Craigslists used to have.

It's just a matter of looking around a little in google.

I am starting the planning stage for my first trip to Lima in October. After reading some on here I am settling on staying in Miraflores. I have read on here that some hotels are visitor friendly and some are not. Can someone point me in the direction on some visitor friendly hotels? I am planning on using Expedia to book my trip, and I would prefer to stick with the chain type hotels if possible.

You will. I am repeating myself here but try to check out the Larco museum and the magic water circuit. Also, if you have time, do a Barranco food tour and swim with the seals. Those are be the experiences of a lifetime.

One last thing: I don't know how good your Spanish is, but I bought two hand held translators to converse with the natives at $150 apiece. It was a waste of money because my phone worked so much better. If you are fluent in Spanish, forget about this advice, but the google translate app on my phone (specifically the button for conversation) allowed me to easily and smoothly converse with the natives, and I was using an old Samsung 7. I'd get a cheap but powerful unlocked used phone here, buy a SIM card in Peru and use that phone as a translator. It probably would be a good idea to play with the translate app here before you go. ....Venezuela and Colombia are more racially diverse than Peru I believe, and there are huge numbers of Venezuelan and Colombian working girls in Lima, and I can't imagine women from those countries saying you aren't welcome in Lima as they themselves are guests. In general, the women from those countries are prettier than Peruvians anyway. If I were black and concerned about racism, I would just hang with hookers from those countries, and I can't imagine not having a blast. I am not sure where you are from El Moreno, but if you were say an American black in a hotel there, I just would be shocked if you saw any racism from the staff there.

I feel like I will be good in Lima. I will post a trip report upon my return (going at the end of next month). I will be staying smack dab in the middle of Miraflores in an Airbnb rental (owner says no issues with visitors, just kept the place clean). All of my experiences with Venezuelan women in the DR, Colombia and Costa Rica have been great. I hope to continue that in Lima. If need be, I'll hit up the Jockey dude or Miss K here.

A coworker just came back from Lima and he told me that he had a difficult time getting chicas to look his way while there in Lima.

Peruvians are typically pretty subtle. I was with a woman, who is stunning, and I didn't notice the cab driver looking at her at all. He then congratulated me on having a hot woman, but I could have sworn he never looked at her. Point is that I am white and can't recall ever having a chick look my way. For whatever reason, I just don't see many people staring at others in Lima and in Peru.

Additionally, he told me that his P4P experience was horrible in that he was given prices no lower than $200 USD for an hour.

Well, that tells me he has no clue what he is doing then.

He said he was told by a chica that it costs more for blacks because they are not usually welcomed and wanted in Lima.

Peru used to be the most open country for refugees coming from the mess that is Venezuela, and there is tension in Peru with Venezuelans like there is with Mexicans in the USA. I don't recall seeing many blacks in Peru. So yeah, I could see Peruvians not being friendly to him if he was perceived to be a black from Venezuela, but that is more country than race based.

Truth be told, I am going to Lima soon and his report on his experiences scared me a bit. But in other places where some may have had a bad time, I always end up enjoying myself greatly (example Costa Rica, Canada, etc).

Trust me, I am reading this Lima forum to a great degree and have taken a page of notes already.
