I congratulate and envy you for being able to feel at home in those surroundings, I'm a very cholo-looking old guy myself but I can't hide my SUV (it is too far for me to go there using public transportation with my so very limited free time), nor my clothing and manners that make me look very out-of-place in those neighborhoods.
Yes I've been at both places, Las Sirenitas and La Colmena VIP. How so? I was curious and I frequent a girl who lives in Carabayllo, so both were in my way home and I decided I wanted to investigate them both. Truth is, I felt much much safer in Las Sirenitas than in La Colmena VIP. And I mean much much safer. The street is wider and more illuminated, parking the car close is easier and there is some informal security so I didn't worry for my car while I was there. The place looked to me closer to El Trocadero than to Las Cucardas, if you know what I mean, the pay-f*ck-leave-quick brothel kind of place although of course much smaller.
In La Colmena VIP. On the other hand, there is no safe place to leave the car and I spent every minute I stayed there worrying about my car, not knowing if I would find it in one piece, or at all, when I went back to look for it. The place looks very similar to Las Sirenitas, you are right there, but the environment and the general attitude of girls and clients felt more like Las Cucardas than like El Troca. Nothing specific to point at, just my perceptions while I stayed there; it felt warmer and more relaxing and the girls nicer and less business-like. However the street (LOS Taladros) looks dark, narrow and full of mean-looking people, I didn't feel safe at all, in fact I felt in danger (although nothing bad happened). Maybe that is why I've never returned to that other venue in the same street (El Olvido) after a once-only scouting incursion either.
I've never used the Metropolitano, as I said before I always go in my own car, but I'd rather walk the slightly longer distance from Estacion Naranjal to Las Sirenitas, along Tupac Amaru Av and Gerardo Unger Av, than walk half a block in LOS Taladros St alone at night. But that's me. You are evidently more used to stroll around the neighborhood and you frequent both places, so I guess your advise is more valid than mine. I, myself, feel safer in Las Sirenitas and even safer yet in Anaconda (in the same area). All a matter of perception.

Posts: 9So I've been looking around.
I will be in Lima the first week of March, first time being Peru. I've done some research on here and on H. The. L.
I can not thank everyone enough for putting up so much information. So far I've concluded I will be staying in Miraflores, I am planning on going to Cucaradas, Emperio, maybe Club 69. I was also planning on calling a few people on the P. K. Websites. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on dealing with the websites and all so if there are any changes / saunas that are close to where I'm staying also if my hotel the crown plaza is girl friendly? Thank you everyone for the help and hope to come back with a detailed report to share with everyone.

Well I'd like to point out that there are new brothels in Lima that they have something in common: security, a nice atmosphere and a variety of girls, especially from Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia and Peru.
And this is:
Las Sirenitas, Av Gerardo Unger, Los Olivos 15311.
La Colmena, calle Los taladros 190 independecia.
La Nene del Cono sur Calle Mariscal Cáceres Mz P, LT 1 D – San Francisco de Tablada de Lurin. VMT.
El Molino Rojo en Jicamarca, San Juan de Lurigancho.
El Eden in Lurín Km 40, wow this place is full of beautiful girls.
All of them have more than 50 girls, and you can find Young ladies, but one recommendation, the first time don't go alone, go with another person, even if there are a lot of people, and if you look like a gringo you have to be careful.
Next post is about brothels a Little far away from Lima (I mean 1 hour or two hours): El Café Rojo in Mala, El Casablanca in Cañete, El Casablanca in Chincha. El MOnalisa in Ica. More reports are coming.

Las Sirenitas is definitely more a brothel than a strip club. A little upscale from El Trocadero, a little downscale from Las Cucardas, but smaller by far than any of those two.
La Colmena VIP is more a strip club than a brothel, the striptease performances a little more frequent, pretty much like the VIP Saloon at the Anaconda in the same area.
No English spoken at all in any of those places so some very basic Spanish is needed. Al least you must be able to ask ¿Cuanto cobras? (How much do you charge? ¿Cuanto tiempo? (How much time? To count from 10 to 40 in Spanish (to understand how much are you being asked for and how much time that involves, how many pops, etc.), and the basic questions you want to ask the girl. CBJ / BBBJ, DFK, etc. If you want to ask.
It should be easier at Las Sirenitas, every girl is standing there at her cubicle's door and everybody knows what are you there for, just seal the deal and proceed. Also the place is safer, the surroundings are safer and there is a Metropolitano station not four blocks away.
It may be trickier at La Colmena VIP where you are expected to talk with the girl at the bar and negotiate the deal. Also I wouldn't recommend a gringo-looking gringo to go alone to La Colmena VIP. I wouldn't go alone there myself. The club itself is not dangerous but the neighborhood is, getting there and getting back might be a little dangerous, even for a Peruvian, if looking like someone from San Isidro or La Molina.

Posts: 52Are these night clubs for dancing or more like strip clubs / brothel? Would a non-Spanish speaker be able to navigate here?

Posts: 244Teach to fish vs buying the best fish you can eat
Using your analogy, this is what I see:
You try to teach someone to fish but in the event that he wants salmon, you try to having him settle for Tilapia and if he doesn't want to go fishing, or he doesn't have the time to go fishing or has the money and the appetite for Salmon and decides to go to the market to get it, you criticize him for paying too much?
We definitely ". We look at the forum in totally different ways."
Regardless our differences, I believe we must respect people's right to spend their money the way they want and your desire to share your valuable experience.
So be happy and let people be happy my friend.
Life is short, enjoy it!
Later.

Basically three categories of Mongers:
1) Lot's of time, limited on cash.
2) Plenty of cash, not much time.
3) Lot's of time AND Lot's of cash.
Unfortunately, for me, I don't fit into the 3rd category. But I do have the cash, just not much time. Therefore, that is my current "M. O. " Don't get me wrong, I do my research and usually am able to find what I need on my own doing no matter the country or language barriers. Lima, on the the other hand, has been a tough nut to crack for me, so when some of the nice folks here on the ISG forum offered to help, I certainly took them up on it. Just because I chose this route, does not cast me in any different light than anyone else who reads or contributes to this forum, nor does the number of posts I have under my name (I just passed that important "single digit".
When I want a good meal. I go find the best steak in town. When I need a snack to keep me going. I go to McDonald's (not really, cause that place really suck, but you get the idea). Nothing wrong with either option, they both fill the void!
Once again, this forum is what we make of it. It can flourish or die. It's up to why'all.
