I strongly advise you to exclusively use BCP ATMs in Peru. The maximum is 700 PEN. No fees. All other banks charge extortionate fees for foreign cards. Globalnet (only ATMs you'll find at the airport), Scotiabank & BBVA all have a 400 PEN maximum. They respectively charge 19 PEN (4.75%), 20 PEN (5%) and 25 PEN (6.25%) commission. Boycott those thieves!

I will be in Lima next month with some friends and staying in Miraflores. Interested in finding chicas in Miraflores to pick-up at bars. We do not plan to go to some of the other areas of town, and not interested in the overpriced strip clubs. From RTTF it looks like pizza alley and sabor peruano are no longer viable. I lived in Cusco for almost two years. The worst part was the cold. As soon as the sun went down, the temps plummeted. There are no natural gas lines or heating oil at least when I lived there several years ago. Houses and apartments do not have furnaces nor are there any coal burning devices. Occasionally, one can find a wood burning fireplace but wood is hard to come by and most of the nearby area were stripped of trees and firewood decades ago. The windows in the older buildings are generally small, maybe because glass was hard to find during colonial days, which reduced solar heat accumulating during the day. Virtually no buildings have central heat of any kind and most people leave their coats on all day while working etc. Even high end hotels provide propane driven heating coil devices for chilly guests though still charge 1st world prices. This is what I used during my stay. One time I almost set my shoes on fire because they were dangling too close to the device and my soles were made of rubber. I could smell rubber burning when I realized that I had draped my shoes too close to the heater. The only hotel I know of that has normal central heat is the new Marriott. It will cost you a pretty penny though.

During the summer months, (Dec-April) they receive the most rain so the dampness, humidity and cloudy skies make it seem even colder. The best time to go are the winter months. At least you have generally sunny skies. What really makes it intolerable are the Cusco women are even colder than the temps.

Lima does not get as cold and the women are more accommodating but it can be quite humid there a good part of the year. The same situation exists there with a lack of central heating and other heating mechanisms we take for granted in the Western world.
