Just click on the reply button and type a message. Use Google translate if your Spanish is bad. Some CL girls do post ridiculous rates or use phrases like "financially well endowed". I laugh and ignore those adds. There is no way in hell I will ever pay more than 300 soles in Lima and the girl better be stunning to get 300.

You can find 200 soles girls on Craigslist, but it takes work and time to weed out the phonies. Over 11 months, I'd say I met 3 I repeated with. They were nice girls looking for some extra cash and they seemed to act the part. Of the two I kept in touch with, neither posts anymore, so I guess it was a temp thing.

Be careful of advertised prices. They mean nothing. A WG will add on for all sorts of things. Only go with prices that punters have have paid to WGs. That's a known quantity not unknown ad.

I am coming with a friend would love to have two wingwomen for our upcoming trip in November (15-29).

On a side note, we are planning to do a road trip to cover Huacachina, Prisco, Cusco, MP, Amazon Jungle Lodge, La Paz and Salt plates near Uyunni.

Please advise if its safe to rent a car and do a road trip or should we use the public transport like other members?

You can also Google "ATM skimmer" and see tons of articles. In Miraflores, I used almost exclusively the Scotiabank ATM on Larco or the BCP on Larco. Both are near Calle Schell and I never had problems with either during 11 months of withdrawals over 2 years. I find using ATMs in banks that are high volume are pretty decent habits to reduce the risk. During the day in Miraflores, both of those ATMs also had security guards close by, which also helps. Nothing is ever 100% safe and seasoned travelers often get fooled as well.

Three weeks after I returned from Lima, I got a fraud alert message from my bank on my cell phone. I called the bank and talked to one of the fraud specialist. He informed me there were two ATM transactions in Lima using my debit card. One transaction went through for over $200, but the next transaction was denied.

I'm very careful when I use any ATM in any country, thus, I asked how could something like this happen. He told me about Card Skimming:

"Skimmers are devices added to ATM machines to capture your card's information, including your account number, balance, and PIN number. These devices, often mounted alongside a machine and labeled 'card cleaners,' are difficult to notice unless you're looking for them.

You may also find card skimmers mounted beside the normal ATM card slot with a sign that says, "slide card here first. " Sometimes they are even mounted right on top of where you would normally enter your card. Skimmers can actually collect and store up to 200 ATM cards before they need to be removed by thieves. ".

Lucky for me, the bank reimbursed my funds during the fraud investigation. The bank agent also told me this happens quite often and to be even more careful when I use my ATM card.
