I lived in Cuzco about ten years ago and on occasion traveled to Lima for a change of pace. Miraflores used to be a good place to find chicks especially Parque Kennedy and PizzaStreet but that started to change even during the time I used to visit there. Tequila Rocks was a good place around 2005-10 but that also fell off. Now, it appears to be a shell of its former shelf. I think Lima had elected a woman mayor around ten years ago who started to crack down on sex in the streets and the massage places.

During my times in Lima, I used to go to a place called Relax and Vida, which was across from the Torres Interbank building accessible by the metro bus. For awhile, that was the best place to go where full service was on the menu if you played your cards right. But by the time I left Cusco, that era was gone too. Not sure if that place still exists but if it does, it may be worth a visit.

Around 2008, I rented an apartment in Miraflores off Craig's List. The (semi) owner, as it turned out, was a really hot and horny girl in her early 30's who I ended up banging on several repeat visits. So I went up the stairs between Subway and the Asian place. I did not remember it being 4 flights before and this place has a different name. It was Bambu. There were chicks in I think bikinis or skimpy clothes. A chick gave me a menu and I asked what kind of place it was. She said it is a place where you can sit and relax and buy drinks for the chicks. Well the drinks for the chicks were like 10 times as much as they were for the guys. I told her that I wanted to do more than drink. She said this was not that kind of place, but there were other places in Lima for that. I told her that I was looking for the bar I was in last time. She said that place is downstairs and it is only open on weekends. Hmm. Last time I went there it was not a weekend but okay. I left out of there before she could twist my arm to buy a 150 soles lady drink. Always ask for a menu before ordering stuff willy nilly!

I walked around the old Pizza Street peeking in to Cuba and Sabor but there was not a damn thing going on. I decided to walk over to Tequila Rock. The doorman told me to go straight downstairs. I went down and besides me there were 6 dudes and 0 chicks besides the waitresses. I asked for a menu to check out the drink prices. I asked the waitress why the place was so empty. She said that they just opened and people do not come until midnight.

I went back out and spoke with the doorman before leaving. He said there is usually a 20 soles cover charge and it includes 1 free drink. I walked back around to Pizza Street and saw 1 hooker standing in a windowway next door to the chocolate place that was already closed. She was pretty big though. Might have been a damn dude. Then I saw another hooker sitting on a bench and a guy was standing up talking to her. I went over to the other side of the park and jumped on the bus headed back to Lince. I think it is better to find chicks online that to waste your time trying to pick them up outside in Miraflores.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way, back to my regular scheduled posting. Halloween night me and my girl left the salon in Lince. There were plenty of families out trick or treating. For some reason for the last couple of nights about 10 pm the special forces police have come to block off Avenida Arequipa around Risso and have been patrolling the area on foot. I'm afraid I have never used that agency and don't have any info about it. It is very very seldom that I use an ad-site to get a girl since, as a general rule, at all of them you have a 50% chance of a bait&switch scheme. I assume it will take me awhile to get a taxi, to my pad by Central Park and find a SIM card (that may have to wait until Sat). I honestly want to drop off my things, freshen up (2 minutes) and hit the town for some action. I'll try strolling the parks and street girl scene, how late do they usually stay out? Sorry for your bad luck with the girls. Dealing with streetwalkers is always like flipping a coin, it can be heads or tails, also streetwalkers tend to be the low end not only in price but also in quality; I guess that is why I mostly stay with "caletas" nowadays. You might get luckier in MegaPlaza, if only because there should be quite a lot more girls to choose from. The price should also be somewhat lower, probably 50 soles lower.

I had no idea Hotel La Princesa didn't let girls in past 2:00 am, I've never been there later than 10:00 pm, good to know that to warn friends.

There are a lot of hotels in the MegaPlaza area but I don't know if any of them will take overnight guests, maybe because I have never searched for one.

Let's get a look at the area: MegaPlaza is a really big mall on the Panamericana Norte highway. The streetwalker's zone is right next to it to the north (map attached), it comprises Calle 1 (C1), CalleB. (CB.), CalleC. (CC.) and Calle LOS Andes. There are several hotels there but I've only stayed at Royal Inn Suites Spa, in Calle LOS Andes, and only for 3 hours. It is a very basic hotel (2-star) but it has rooms with private sauna, which is why I went there. I don't know if they take guests overnight or the price for that.

The best hotels, IMHO, are across the Panamericana Norte in Jr Carlos Augusto Salaverry. The ones I've been in and can recommend are Hotel Asturias, Hostal Boulevard, Hotel MVH and Hotel Princess, Asturias being my favorite, all close together in the same block. Again, I've only been there for three-hour stays and don't know if they take guests overnight or how much they charge for it but I guess you can find out over the phone.

As a side note, right around the corner from Hotel Asturias, in Calle Santa Cruz de Pachacutec, is Restaurant El Aguajal with one of the best (if not the best) jungle food in Lima. Jungle food (comida de la selva) is not for everyone, some like it a lot (me included) some don't like it even a little bit. The restaurant is not fancy but is big and clean; if you decide to venture some jungle food, I'd recommend Juane de gallina and Patarashca de paiche (other fish is good but paiche is best), distrust the Aji de cocona (a spicy sauce they'll serve in a small pot to accompany your food), I like it a lot but it might be just too hot for a gringo; if you like soup, try Inchicapi de gallina. Of the typical jungle non-alcoholic drinks they'll offer you, I'd recommend Camu-Camu juice or Cocona juice; they'll offer you Aguajina, stay away from it, jungle people likes it a lot and it doesn't taste that bad, but it smells rotten. Of course you can always opt for Coke or beer.
