last week i checked almost all of the sauna locations which are on the lima list. see below.
miraflores
1. hotel bruce sauna, jr. bolognesi 181-191, near vivanda from pardo ave.
asked the guy at the reception desk. they said that the sauna is no more available (closed).
2. masajes diez canseco, 1st block of diez canseco, 4th floor.
there is no sign that there is a massage, spa, sauna etc. at this location. therefore i assume that this location is closed.
3. ubicado en masajes, diez canseco 1xx, 3rd floor, near tequilas.
again there is no sign that there is a massage, spa, sauna etc. at this location. therefore i assume that this location is closed.
4. banos turcos britania, calle arica 221, a block from av j pardo and cmdte espinar, cdra 2. __ chicas. prices: massage s/30, chica s/200. hours: monday to saturday noon to 9pm. not recommended. fortunately i could see the facilities before paying the entrance fee. this is a run-down place, very simple facilities, just one steam room which was cold! i was told that there are two chicas available.
5. baños turcos, manuel bonilla? #162, button 201.
does not exist anymore.
6. sauna royal spa, av. republica de panama # 6570, between 28 de julio and mariscal castilla. __ chicas. prices: s/25 entrance, s/30 massage, s/150 sex. tel: 242-2490. hours: 10 am to 3am. http://www.royalspaperu.com/ website seems to be not available anymore. however, the sauna exists, see my previous report.
8. ozono spa (ex-romano), contralmirante villar 760, the back of cuadra 7 de la av. del ejército. __ chicas. prices: entrance s/35, massage s/35, extras s/300. tel: 221-1959. hours: 10am to 1am.
not checked because this location was too far from my hotel.
9. la esperanza 237, 5th floor. does not exist anymore.
however, there is a new sauna.
adan spa, calle arica 226-230, just opposite banos turcos britania. website: www.adan-spa.com
chicas. prices: entrance s/33, massage s/30, extras s/350. tel: 241-6930. hours: 24 hours open
the facilities are the best i have seen during my 2-week-stay in lima, very new and in excellent quality. one big steam room, one dry sauna (though a bit too cold for me), many private rooms to relax, a jacuzzi (though a bit small, capable for 7 persons), free internet, many plasma screens. there are 4 physiotherapists which provide very good therapeutic massages (30 min s/30, 45 min s/40). have been there two times late in the afternoon. around 8 beautiful chicas in the range 6.7 were waiting for more, however prices are steep. one were asking for s/ 380 for fs. i declined and asked for just a "masaje sin ropa" (no hj), for that she wanted s/ 150! therefore i left her and went to a nice young chica which gave me a wonderful therapeutic massage for my back. this place is ideal for relaxing for hours, you can even eat there and the food is not that bad, but the downside is that the chica's are too expensive and for me a bit cold.

I rented from http://www.apartmentclubperu.com/ when I was in Lima first week of December last year. The process was very simple. All you had to do was pay pal $100 as a security deposit and I had no problem at the apartment. Just take care of the doorman.
http://www.apartmentclubperu.com/ do an excellent service. They make everything hassle free, they will be there to check you in and out. They were very helpful and the managers are very cool also. I partied with one of the manager and we all had a great time. Give them a try.

I am moving to Lima in October to use as a home base and will travel to all of S. America on business from there. I am fluent in Spanish and have been to Lima many times for business, but I am not familiar with how it is to live there with an American Salary and expenses paid. If I wanted to live comfortably in Miraflores in a high rise building, what should I expect to pay? How is it for an American living there in regards to security ( I lived in Ecuador for 4 years & needed to carry a gun everywhere is it similar)? I know several of the clubs mentioned in the forum and have been to them more than a few times, so I would be very interested in getting together with any other fellow monger living in Lima to visit a few places. Thanks for the help guys.

New to Peru and it's many delicacies I decided to try out Relax y Vida #1 after having heard some good things about it. Remember guys that it's in la Victoria (for your cab driver). You exit right after passing San Isidro (from miraflores).
Anyways let's get down to business, the girls there range from 5 to 7.5 and I think I'm being generous but then again I am younger than most of the girls: P yet I am into girls that are younger than me (I'm in my early 20s). I speak very little spanish and the conversation was therefor a little awkward. You can still get by, but you shouldn't act as if you are timid. I didn't and they still treated me like a child telling me to relax. But I was very relaxed. That kinda turned me off. But anyways after 10 minutes in the main room I was asked if I made my choice. I picked a 6 because she was sitting next to me and the 7.5 was being a little colder to me than her.
We went up to the room, I didn't really know what to expect. She undressed me, showered me, put me on a massage table and did the massage, then after about 10 minutes started sucking my balls and wanking me, she then god completely undressed and continued. She would kiss me from time to time, but I didn't like it at all because her teeth weren't perfect. After some time wanking I wanted more, but it seemed out of the question. I didn't care, because again I didn't like her teeth: P. Sex would have been nice though.
I finally came, I don't know if she was disappointed, I wouldn't understand why. But she really seemed it, maybe she really did want me to fuck her. We then went into the steam room. After a while there (and it gets hot) I got hard again. Now I had cum a lot and by a lot I mean I released it all. I got hard again but I wasn't into another hand job. When I realized nothing else was on the table I softened up and she ended up. She was really into kissing, so am I normally. But again her teeth were really putting me off: P. A knock came on the door, she seemed annoyed again that it was over which was strange. She dressed me and then I was offered a drink. I got an orange juice. I went down and didn't feel like staying longer.
So it was 90 soles + propina. I wanted to leave a 40 soles tip but was told that wasn't enough. Ye I'm a gringo and can be taken advantage of of course. I was kinda pissed because leaving a 50 soles tip for a HJ. Anyways I gave an extra 10 and was on my way. 140 soles for about 1h30 mins and HJ finish. A little pricey but you aren't rushed and it's a real GFE. I wouldn't repeat because of the quality of girls and the no sex factor, but I do think that if you are in Peru you should try it. It's very relaxing: P

I am sworn to secrecy, but Hell where amongst friends!
A buddy of mine is in town right now and rented an apartment.
As is usual when he arrived in town he went to TR and pulled a Flavorita!
The next day the landlord (young & pretty) has several apartments, came by to introduce herself ( he was let in the night before by the doorman). They took care of business and then he invited her out for lunch. After lunch they went back to the apartment to share a bottle of wine. Pleasant conversation ensued and as time went by the bottle ran out. He offered to go get another and she agreed. Halfway through the second bottle, her passion was released!
She snuck out the next morning leaving my friend exhausted. Needless to say she felt bad about charging him rent and has been "giving it back" (so to speak)daily since he arrived!

If you want "daily maid service" with clean sheets and towels and you do not know how to do laundry, then you are better off in a hotel where YOU pay for that service. Although some apartments will include it at additional cost.
There are two types of deposits:
Cancellation & Security
Cancellation- generally put on a credit card/Paypal- but with Peruvian landlords wire transfer is common. You lose this (30-50%) in the event you do not show!
Security- amount varies and covers theft/destruction/etc. AND you are responsible for others in the apartment. You will be given an inventory to sign and everything has to be there when you check out.
Known entities who rent (the Penthouse for ex.)regularly, do not sign leases,no security, no inventory and all is done on a handshake.
If you are not in that position, then a hotel is probably better as well.
Apartments are less expensive then similar size and quality hotels and work well for guys that are bringing back normal girls or get outcall girls.
In the past apartments were more expensive than today and owners could be more choosey. In today's reality those without a steady clientele are eager for clients (longer stay's are better). In the future it will depend on the
world economy as well as Dollar/Sole exchange rates.

Thank you for the link. Did you have to wire money to an unknown person ? I assume this is the only way to do it. There has to be zero protection if something goes wrong.

I am glad the topic of apartments has come up again. My flight is already booked for march. This time "yes" I would like to stay in an apartment but who can you trust to rent from ? If I had the money I would stay at *lima busy's place but I don't.
The expat peru forum has a huge list of apartments with owner's email info.
I got in touch with one owner from the expat forum but he was a joke. His email started out with "Uuumm am I just curious or am I serious about renting ". He then said he needed x amount of money and one months deposit on top of advance payment for the month when I get there.
That is why I stay at the ML or places like it (includes daily maid service and clean towels).
Can anyone lead me in the right direction ? If not I will try out one of the apart/residencial type hotels on arequipa.
I am a very straight forward simple guy. I couldn't deal with a sketchy landlord type eyeing me all the time. If someone needs a huge deposit from me that wouldn't work either.
Again thats why I "fear" renting.
I'd like to hear from anybody that has rented.
Thanks
