Interesting. I was around polves azules today and I noticed they cleaned up that whole area. They are building a shiny new shopping center on the street where the chicas used to be.

I've been a long time lurker but have opted to post a quick note regarding my weekend in Lima. I read the forum but as I was going to be in Lima just for a weekend thought I would focus on actually eating seafood.

I checked out a few of the high end clubs (Emanuelle and Club 69) and have nothing to add to previous posts.

I sent a PM to David 33 at the eleventh hour and he was most accommodating. He arranged for two girls to come to see me. The first one was fairly inexperienced and somewhat thicker than I usually like but still performed reasonably well once relaxed.

The second chica was amazing. ~24 yr. old, flaca, gregarious, and an all out multiorgasmic woman. We had an unhurried experience with her giving as much as she got. At the end, we were both lying there in a pool of sweat.

There are several street walkers in pizza alley, but they appear very late. I was there last saturday around 3:00 am and there were several girls openly asking for as low as 100 S/. probably for short time but i was way too drunk so just hired a taxi and left.

I never saw a girl at the park itself for the whole month there, and ML is a block from the park and I had to walk through it to go to alot of places.

However, I saw a small selection of girls giving me eye contact right next to Pizza Alley on Ave Benavides. You know the blue atm right at the start of Pizza Alley - the closed stores next to that has a variety of girls that looks interested and just hanging around. None were worth the effort of negotiating with or taking back to my hotel.

On the subject of SW, theres a block in Gamarra near Jamie Bauzate Y Meza (inside the "complex") where there were girls motioning me to come and a hostel upstairs. It didn't look too safe, especially with the stories about guys coming in and stealing your stuff, so I didn't partake. Has anyone seen anyone there?

What I did notice is a mercado called "la rica miel". Alot of guys on peru tops mention someplace in la victoria called hotel la rica miel but I couldnt find it.

Maybe that is what down under found.

I must say though from my experiences on the streets here I have not had good times. I have once or twice but IMHO the street system is set up as a hustle. I would relate the SW scene in lima as dangerous as quito ecuador.

I will post last night's experience in a future post...but trust me the intention is to set you up.

The gated part of Gamarra is a sort of feeding frenzy place. The girls are very skanky and most certainly not medically checked! (Come to think of it, that's probably why Artisttyp dines on brown donuts!) Once you get out of the main market building part and penetrate further into the labyrinth, this is where the Peruvians come to buy the cheap clothes and all the required bits for making pirate clothing e.g. levis, D&G etc. (you can actually buy fake zippers with companies logos on them!) There is nothing to do with clothing, curtains, fashion etc that you cannot get here. Except the real thing. Quite an amazing sight. You and I would stick out like sore thumbs - Artisttyp and DownUnder, less so!

Yeah its inside the gammara market (the gated part) in the far north end just before 28 De Julio.

Theres a fair few locotorios (phone places) below and near a juice bar and some restuarants. Its the "middle" block of the three.

For 95% of gringos that is not a safe place! Me, I like Gamarra but I could never recommend it to a "casual" gringo-looking tourist. I'm impressed you went there though! Good on you, mate.

Which Latin American countries in your experience would you say have the least habit of shaving?

I am visiting south and central america every year for two months.

I really miss the 80's, this shaving trend sucks so bad. To me it's a real turn off even if the girls are as hot as Shakira.

There need to be a universal signal that you are looking for fun so there is no guessing for the working ladies. Perhaps untide shoe laces on one shoe for example. Hehehe
