In accomplishing this, one needs to be honest with oneself and others; this ‘honesty’ goes beyond simply telling the truth … it’s about embracing one’s limitations and indulgences – and making it a reality. It has been two years since I had the time to take a trip to Latin America. -U.S. Dollar:Nuevo Sol exchange rate = 1:2.9 (at this time – it was 3.4 about 4 years ago, and had dipped to 2.5/2.6 a few months ago)

-I do not particularly like the club scene (call me a wallflower), so a place such as Tequila Rocks is not on my prime radar; thus, keep that in mind when reading my report.

[Monday]:
The overnight flight on LAN was uneventful. Once on the airplane, I marveled at the stature of the Chilena stewardesses who pleasantly ensured all bags had a place to stay. Immigration and baggage pick-up at Lima’s airport was a breeze, and I had an enjoyable chat w/my taxi driver (‘Green Taxi’ = 45NS) to Miraflores @ La Paz Apart Hotel.

La Paz Apart Hotel: I took a double suite for interchangeable rooms for $400 for the whole stay; I do understand that the cost may be a bit higher than what some readers would like, but many of the Miraflores apartments were already sold out and this hotel seemed to be promising for bringing up women without a hassle. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet (back-side windows).

10:55: ***Ariela*** (gracias a David_33)
Ariela arrived on time and was a bubbly, beautiful 18 year old Limena. She was about 5’1”, lean, medium-brown hair, and was very cute; in many ways, she is the type of girl that most grown men would see in a mall and ogle at (and yes, I ogled at her as we walked into my room). 15:40: Time to exercise and enjoy the sites of Miraflores. The complete overcast of the sky makes it difficult for me to navigate as I do not know which way is north and south; nonetheless, it was a pleasure being back in Lima after 4 years.

Evening: Although I never enjoy eating in a restaurant alone, I was the first patron to enter Astrid and Gaston at 19:30 tonight. Even though I didn’t have reservations, I was able to get a seat at a table in the bar area and had some of the best service in the world. I am not a gourmand and I rarely overeat, but the olives and queso, breads w/special sauces, Mahi Mahi tuna special main course, and chocolate mousse comprised of some of the best food that I’ve ever had in my life. The $32 bill (keep in mind that I do not drink alcohol) was excessively low for what I am used to paying in NYC. With that said, if there is only one restaurant that one should go to in Lima, it would likely be Astrid and Gaston. Don’t miss out; I thought that it was on-par with (if not better than) restaurants such as Nobu, Indochine, Olives, and Mr. K’s.

The remainder of the night comprised of mindless wandering in Miraflores. I walked through Pizza Alley and Parque de Kennedy, and made occasional eye contact with some unexceptional women. Without much leche (and strength) left in my tank, I decided to return to my room a bit early. I made a couple calls (including one to a seemingly sincere latinamericancupid.com girl) and set up a dinner for Tuesday night. Rather than hoping for sex, I figured that it would be nice to have company at some of the restaurants that I would be going to in the next few days.

WTF is going on in Lima these days?

The same thing that Went on in Sosua, San Jose, Panama City, Cartagena, Medellin, and countless other places but actually at a higher rate due to the seemingly unlimited funds that some guys that come down here seem to have. Lima has quickly in a short period become either a second tier pro place or a notaputa place. The high end pro action has become stifled and ugly, at least for the seasoned monger. The hit and run..point and shoot guys are loving it, as are the pro girls.

Along these lines, a whole tribe of La dulce vida girls sniffed this out and along with a contingent from medellin have moved from Colombia to Lima and are inhabiting Tequila Rocks. Nice to see some familiar faces ( I have stories!) Tequila rocks has splintered into a Peru vs Colombia, westside/eastside thing. The peruvian girls player hate on the colombians, and the colombians turn their nose up at the 'ugly' pervian girls. It is a riot to talk to the girls about!

Any help?

I'm going to Peru tomorrow night should be getting their about midnight or so. I maybe Peruvian but Lima I don’t know where to get around. Iv been out once but the damage to my wallet was a bit too hard. I plan on only staying that one night anyone have any advice as were to go? A nice place to meet a chica? Places I should stay out or look forward to? Any hot spots to have fun for that one night? Last time I went to a "night club" were you have to drink with the girl but that place was to expensive with low quality of girls. Any advice is welcome!
