Things are changing all the time but if you remain within Caracas you should be ok. I think most hotels will require you to pay in BS but I am sure you can find some that accept dollars, with regards to the girls / agencies they have all started to quote in dollars as well as BS so again you should have no problems. Having said that it would help immensely if you found a local that can set you up with a bank card and SIM, most bellboys will sort you out as they are all looking to make money on the side but if you are stuck I do have a reliable contact that I have kept in touch with.

Yes, hotels that were good 1 or 2 years ago are still good. They are really not the ones that are suffering from our current crisis.

Yes. Any moderately decent hotel will have at least a couple of taxi drivers that work with them, and it would be very wise to become friends with those guys. Just don't take any taxi cab you may find in the streets..
