El Club de Baco, perhaps? I honestly never liked that place.

Prices are again rising steeply and even though I receive more than the Dolartoday rate I am still finding things very expensive. My last exchange I received 110 for when I paid by transfer and received in a local account. At the same time I also just exchanged $10 in cash for 1100 en effectivo. So, I am confused usually there is a greater difference by approximately 200%. On top of this an arepa mixto cost 180 and I just paid 350 for a sopa de pescado and 100 for a cerveza. When I ask the price of things in the market, a lot of things are more expensive than Canada or Colombia given the rate I am getting. Is this just an extreme example of a non-functioning market, are things getting ridiculously expensive? I see on some other sites, some quotes of around 160-170 for the dollar, is that a more reasonable price? Am I getting a good price for effectivo and a poor price for transfer? Can anybody explain a bit?
Thanks,
S.
Thing is, the economy in this country is going through a weird moment (yes, even weirder than usual). Two months ago Maduro pulled a set of economic policies that among other things, rose the monthly minimum wage at over 6000% (not a typo! Erased five "zeroes" from our currency, printed a ton of new bank notes, and set the official exchange at a MUCH higher price. The economy is still reeling from such idiocy, and the direct consequence is that the prices of everything have soared without control, while the black market for the dollar has remained static. As I mentioned before, right now the exchange rate is nowhere near as favorable as it was barely two months ago. Fortunately, it seems that the dollar price is starting to rise once again, we'll see this month how does the situation develops.

It is all pretty much the same. Some of the Studios have closed, and in my opinion most of the agencies seem to be a bit more expensive. Twitter is definitely good. The place in the basement in Chacaito is still open. I don't consider it seedy at all. Just doesn't have great talent. Usually about three girls. Club Bacanao around the corner on Ave Casanova is more seedy, and also never really found any great girls there. There is also all 4-5 seedy brothels near Nuevo Circo in el Centro. Personally I think the first floor of the Volta is actually quite decent. It is about the most authentic old school brothel with a better ambience than most. It has running water and clean sheets, and a few friendly girls. The first time you visit you might finding it shocking as the building looks like a crack house from 1980's LES in NY. But once you acclimatize you can see that the management is honest, it is actually reasonably clean and on a good day you can actually have a decent time there. I spend a lot of time there, I know about 4-5 girls who I consider solid 8's who give good service and who I trust enough to have visit me at home. The top floor is seedier, but even there there are a few decent ones. Payment there is purely in efectivo. Current rates I think are around 150-200 for about 20-25 minutes. Some of the poorer providers will give a mechanical 15 minutes for this price, but if you chat first you can usually weed them out, and avoid the hassle. A tip of 100 is appreciated, and for my favourites who give consistent good service I sometimes give $5 in cash or buy a soup or some ice-cream from the shops nearby. If you don't have efectivo you can also barter where you talk to the girl and see what she needs then go to the supermarket across the street an buy those things. Mostly these days it is in efectivo though. Also another possible hotel recommendation is the Hotel de Las Americas, about a 2-3 minute walk away also on Ave Casanova. I stayed there on my last trip and for some reason was getting the corporate rate which at the time was about $3-5 nightly. I had a small JR suite in the tower on the right hand side. It was nice, had a good TV, a bar fridge, a small couch and coffee table, big comfortable bed, and nice bathroom with big glass doors in the shower. It had running water 95% of the time I was there (which was for over a month). The internet was not great, but it was generally well run, safe and girl friendly. Not sure of current rates. I would say if you do visit, go for the first time mid-week and ask to see a bunch of rooms. A lot of the other Jr. Suites in the same tower where much shabbier looking with old TV, and formica counters. The other tower has bigger suites but I didn't like the layout at all. Rooms near the back and higher up get more traffic noise.

The Sexycaracas.com forums used to be a treasure trove of good info, with several pics and reviews on a daily basis by regular customers. Can't really say if the forums are any good nowadays (and I honestly wouldn't hold my breath, the crisis most likely has affected many local mongers who posted there), but it is worth a try.
Twitter is indeed the easiest way to find girls, there are LOTS of agencies and independents publishing there. If you do stay in the Chacao Cumberland and are feeling adventurous, just a block away there is the Noche de Ronda Bar, in the basement level of Centro Comercial Chacaito. The place is old (pretty sure it's been there since the mid 80's), looks seedy as hell and the selection of girls is mixed at best, but is cheap and relatively safe since it's inside a shopping mall. Plus they open early, so you can get a feel of the place without going at night. Also, if you are feeling *especially* adventurous, two block away from the hotel there is one of the most (in) famous and oldschool brothels in Caracas: El Volta. As I have described in other posts, only the most corageous mongers would dare to enter that place, but it's incredibly cheap and you can occasionaly find a gem in there.
Well, thanks MaraCucho. Your information's is very important. I thing for all of us.

About girls, you call in girls from agency's and freelancers from twitter or you go to "massages" , studios, etc. ? What is the "best" solution about girls, I mean in prices, the looking of girls, etc.
If you go to Caracas "as Visitor" where you stay, eat, and the most important than all, find girls!
I have find a lot of agency's and non-pros in twitter. I can't find some agencies with websites. And I can't find any local forum for escorting in Venezuela. For example http://www.foroprepagoscolombia.com/ in Colombia.

Myself, whenever I go to Caracas for business, I stay in the Hotel Harmony. The hotel is old, with facilities that are a bit rundown and certainly have seen better day, but it is cheap and centric and the area surrounding the hotel is pretty calm. The kind of place you leave early to spend the day doing your things in the city, and only return at the end of the day to go to bed. Not exactly what I recommend for a tourist looking for a leisure time, but I thought it worth the mention.

The main Eurobuilding hotel was one of the best in Caracas and it was around $40 a night. The cost for food varied a lot in Caracas. If you eat at fancy places it's like $10-15 per person per meal, normal places are less than $5 I think. It was hard for me to find girls. A lot of the pros I meet had a lot of rules and were mechanical. The girls that were doing extra stuff weren't super good looking.
There was a guy on here that spoke excellent Spanish and was able to get pretty hot girls daily with a lot of socializing. He had photos and everything. I also just read another post about a sex convention that looks promising.
Well, thank you Duncan! You mean this one? https://www.booking.com/hotel/ve/eur...-caracas.html? so you need almost 500 dollars for 10 days.
Some cheaper than this?

I thougt this could be interesting to any forum members visiting Caracas these days: this week the Exposexo 2018 will be open in the Hotel Tamanaco Intercontinental, starting this Wednesday 26 and closing next Sunday. Basically is a convention of the many sex-related business and stores in Venezuela (for example, Sexycaracas.com usually has a stand), with shows and private rooms and so on. Can't guarantee if the con will be any good with the current crisis, but I did attend the first iteration of the Exposexo back in. 2012, I think? And it certainly was a fun time.
