Just landed at Punta Cana airport and the police lady before the actual immigration ask me a certificate, without that I would need to do or show PCR.

Anyway I took the bus to Boca Chica they speak dollar in all hotel.

This town is finished rotten and broken to death.

Philippines doesn't require yellow fever shot to enter either unless you're coming from a country that makes it required. Coming from Africa I had to show it otherwise I wouldn't have been allowed to check in. I questioned the lady and she brought back the book and showed me. Its probably required coming from Brazil since yellow fever exists there.

I'm sorry to hear about the new requirement in Brazil. Seems to me like before mandating it they should wait 5 to 10 years to determine the long term affects on the immune system, among many other extremely important concerns.

Your buddy should get his yellow fever vaccine in the USA. There have been Yellow Fever outbreaks recently in Sao Paulo and Minais Gerais states so the vaccine is quite useful for a trip to Brazil. Yellow Fever is a lot worse than COVID-19! One shot is good for life.

There is no yellow fever in the Dominican Republic, but the right type of mosquito is there (Aedes). I guess that is why they want people to be vaccinated, although the USA has the right type of mosquito in the south, and we haven't had a serious outbreak in over 100 years. It seems stupid to me, and I would bet the yellow fever vaccine requirement is not enforced by immigration authorities in the DR. But I can understand how he would not want to take the chance.

If he insists on waiting until he gets to Rio for the vaccine, he can go to any Posto the Saude and ask for one. The vaccine is free in Brazil. But, my experience with health care in Brazil is that it involves a lot of waiting around for the doctor or nurse. This is time that is much better spent in Termas Quatro Por Quarto!

Uber would cost you 3000 pesos and yes they would drive any where on the Island for a price.\Put her ass on the bus for 250 pesos. Not a difficult decision. The bus run every hour.

I have a Chica that lives in Santiago, does Uber operate from there with service to Sosua and returning from Sosua to Santiago? What I would like to do is just arrange the Uber for her by putting in her address to my address in Sosua using my UBER account.

I've been there three times since they reopened and never was asked for anything, they did do a rapid Covid test my second time.

Because I'll be flying in a few days, I just checked the airline website and it's still the same.
