Posts: 2116Look for Casa Valeria (google it for their website) in Sosua if you like a quiet place and next door New Garden, which can be somewhat raucous (used to be at least). I have stayed at Casa Valeria and it would meet with approval from most people here. Including Oakie. It is the closest you can be to action. What with that hotel and the next door hotel restaurants (good quality restaurants too) having women sitting around. The women also strut about on the streets right outside the gates of the hotels and as this is a really small town, it is extremely convenient for taking a stroll and getting lucky.
I would say that keeping the mask on is a good idea. Even if you are vaccinated as you do not want to catch a mutated bug and fall sick there. You also have to get a "covid free" certification from a lab to get back home.
Regarding rates, I think you should not pay more than $40-50, even if you are asked for higher amount. If this sounds like a plan, send me a PM, and I might be able to give you further pointers.
Colombia, right at this moment is a little hot, politically speaking BTW.

Sosua has all that and more. Leave your stress at home. You don't even need to drive.
Check it out.

Posts: 314Resort with good selection of chicas without being overpriced?
So, I'm trying to make my next move in the CoViD travel game: where can you go without being forced to quarantine, mask wearing, curfews, lockdowns, and be even allowed in given were you come from! I found that DR didn't even require that stupid 72 hour PCR test. They appear to extend a wide open invitation! Question: does this mean that everyone is flocking to DR now? Do you find it being more crowded than it used to be?
This could be the perfect place for my next move. I would like it somewhere warm, beachy, relaxed, decent Internet to work, ideally a resort type hotel. But one where there is a free flow of chicas, pro or semipro I don't care, but without being overpriced. Like without requiring all that hunting to find them and waste time to make appointments and be blown off. Rather, one where you can go about your business and when the urge hits or a nice proposal crosses your field of view, you could just go at it. I imagine DR as a place where such thing might almost exist.
It should be fair priced though. If I can get a nice selection in Rio or So Paulo for US $ 25 short time on from there, I do not at all feel an interest to instead go to Habano's in Panama to pick up something that wants US $100, I find Panama unattractive for this reason. Basically I am trying to decide between Colombia and the. Are. For my next stop. And I have a sense that the. Are. Has more action near beach places. Can you recommend?
EDITS: I did some research, just finding nice places to stay, that some places look pretty sold out. Santo Domingo and especially Santiago has everything sold out it seems. Santiago has no beach anyway. I wonder if I go to some beach town far away from those centers, like it was suggested Nagua or Baharona, do they have any chicas on offer or is it short supply and high price there? I don't care much about clubbing and generally going out. I am more interested in having an easy time of calling someone over, or going out to pick up, and possibly have some kind of fixed arrangement for a week or so, rather than constantly going out on the hunt.

Posts: 1987Should you stay away from Republica Dominicana?
I love these posts asking if DR is still a good spot. No, it is not a good spot if you want it to be like other places you go. It is a good spot if you enjoy Republica Dominicana for what it has to offer and can put up with the problems that come with the place.
Baharona.
Someone said it is their new favorite spot. Surprised they did not mention it. Been mine since I was "boots on the ground" along with Puta Cana. There is a local beach there that is great. Unfortunately, growth and development has caught up and there is a new planned community being built right down the road from the place.
Nagua.
Hating on expats is a lost cause here in Republica Dominicana. They are a major source of hard currency and proximity to well developed nations while still being the most affordable well developed spot in the Caribbean means they are coming in groves not staying away.

Until April 30,2021, Dominican authorities will exceptionally accept both types of registrations to enter the country: the current one through physical forms, and the new one through the digital system. As of May 1, 2021, the use of digital forms will be mandatory and no other method of providing the required information to enter the Dominican Republic will be allowed or be recognized as valid. The form is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Russian and can be accessed through the following link: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do.
Passengers will need to fill out a form for arrival and another one for departure and the system will generate two QR codes. Dominican airports have free internet access, so that passengers who did not fill out the form before flying can do so when they arrive in the country. To save time during the arrival procedure, we recommend filling out the form 72 hours before the trip, printing or making a screenshot of the QR code and keeping it on hand until arrival, where it will be scanned by the authorities when passengers go through Customs. The QR code will not be scanned during departure, but it is a confirmation that the form was completed correctly. If passengers need to make any changes to the form, they must fill it out a new form. For additional information and to watch an instructional video, please visit: https://viajerodigital.mitur.gob.do/. Passengers arriving on private flights, non-commercial vessels, ferries, cruise ships, etc. , do not need to fill out the electronic form. The physical Traveler's Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration and International Embarkation / Disembarkation forms will be accepted for the aforementioned passengers."

Posts: 223Any untouched cities in the DR anymore
Went to puntacana and santodomingo a few years back, had a good time.
Now it seems like sosua, santiago, santodomingo, etc has become the hotspot for the "make it rain" crew that rent villas and post youtube vlogs.
Is the DR a lost hope? Or are there still some coastal cities that cater to locals without the youtubers and yuppies fucking everything up?

I returned from DR to the States on Friday. They offer antigen testing at the airport.
I arrived at the airport 12:48. Went to the information desk and was directed to the testing area. It is located down a short hallway behind the ticket counter. There were 6 people waiting for test results and 2 people in line in front of me waiting to be tested. I had to show my passport to register. After a short wait I was tested and out of there at 1:17. Total cost was $35 usd.
