That happen to my man RO once in April leaving Jax on AA airline. They told him they couldn't give him his ticket because it was 1 way and no return. I got him a ticket coming back with Jet blue and he remembered. He walked over to JB and got a copy and they issued a ticket. One time, after arriving in MIA buying a one way ticket to SDQ (I now don't buy return tickets because I don't know when I want to return) and wanting to change to an earlier flight. They questioned me about not have a return flight. I told them the original ticket they issued to me didn't have a return flight and there was not problem. What's the problem now! I couldn't believe they questioned me after charging me $200 for change of ticket.

As a matter of fact, I think a while back I did try to purchase a one way ticket online to the DR, but the website wouldn't allow me to purchase it. Said a round trip ticket was required. I think I was using Cheaptickets website at the time?

The trip to the DR where I had a one way ticket, I think I bought the ticket directly on Jetblues website. I checked in outside the terminal instead of inside. Tipped the guy, and noticed the ticket had TSA pre check approved on the ticket. I think he did that for tipping him. I didn't have to go to the regular security check point. Perhaps when I checked in, the agent did something on the computer so I didn't need a return flight confirmation? All of this is sketchy and speculative. I'm just trying to come up with an explanation as to why I was able to purchase a one way ticket and travel with no problems in one instance but refused a one way purchase in another.

This trip coming up in August was a one way purchase online with United. To increase my chances of flying without purchasing a return flight, I'm going to check in outside the terminal. Whatever happens in the DR may be another challenge.

In most countries if you don't have a visa to stay for a certain time you are supposed to have proof of passage out of the country by the date that your time as a tourist expires. I am not sure how much time you are allowed as a normal tourist in DR.

The tourist card you buy in the DR is good for 30 days. It's like a temporary visa. I'm still trying to figure out if proof of passage out of the country is required in the DR?

You can stay as long as you want. You will have to pay the fine when you go out of the country. A few hundreds bucks after 2-3 years, but it will rise a bit every year. Return ticket, better to have one or to have a flight or bus ticket that proves that you will leave the country.

I do recall purchasing a one way ticket last year to Santiago because it was cheap. I don't recall any agent telling me I needed to purchase a return ticket. I paid the $10 tourist card fee. Bought my return flight online in the DR. I don't know if I got lucky because someone dropped the ball, or it doesn't matter if you buy a round trip ticket or not. Information on the net is limited on the subject. Thats why I'm asking if anyone ever bought a one way ticket?

I got a recent un confirmed report of a guy having to buy a return flight once he got to the DR. He actually lives in the DR most of the time, and goes back to the states perhaps to visit family. This time while in the states visiting, he purchased a one way ticket to go back to the DR. Which means, he only purchased a one way ticket in order to get to the states in the 1st place. He supposedly was forced to buy a one way ticket back to the states. But his circumstances may be different than most travelers? There is no telling what he put on his immigration forms on the way to the DR. Like what his permanent residence is. Or the info he gave on how long he was staying in the DR? Or the possibility he was flagged because he paid the overstay penalty when he left the DR for the states, and his passport may have been flagged for that?

When I see him, I will get the story from his mouth.

I went through that on Thursday, I got the big "X" and had to go to the special place, hahaha.

Atl also does this and gave me the big X. But they have a special line with less waiting for those of us who have to go to that special place. I saved an hour of waiting. I don't ever want to lose my X.

I came through Mia airport today and they have new kiosks. They don't tell you about these until you reach passport control, typical Mia procedure. You will see the visitors section in passport control then they will see you are confused and direct you to the right place.

You insert your passport and it will ask you a couple questions then take a picture. You will be issued a receipt and then proceed through passport control. They closed concourse E at 9:30 pm and I had to enter concourse the and walk all the around, made my flight with ten minutes to spare. Heads up fellas.

There are a few details in this story. Please read thoroughly.

Well this is why I was so confused about who was actually the culprit.

The cell phone I noticed missing within 5 minutes of us entering my room. Because we were talking about cellphones, and I had brought some extra ones with me. So I was looking for one in particular. Nowhere to be found.

So, it fucked me up a little bit. But I had this hot chica (my first in this room).

So we finish our session. I walked her out. Return to room to relax. Then an hour later decide to hit the stroll. Look for my envelope of money. Gone.

Now I never knew I left my loot out in the first place (had I realized, I would have stuck it in the safe in front of her). And when paying her, I didn't need to access that envelope.

So Occam's razr dictates simplest answer. I figured the same thief stole both. Which excluded her.

Notified security guard, who was pretty useless. I didn't involve the police yet. Needed time to analyze this shit. Have a few friends in SDQ and POP, called them and discussed with them.

Decided in the morning I would make shit hot, make a scene while management and guests were there, and call police in the morning.

Morning comes. Damn that toilet is still leaking. Never leaked when I first got there. Jiggle the handle. No effect.

Open up the tank, and shit there's something in there. Some stupid chica threw her tampon in here or what? Pull it out, and it's my money envelope all wrapped up.

OK, so now finger points more toward that chica vs hotel staff. But the phone. Was definitely not her. So two things happened? She stole money and I lost my phone? Odd.

Retraced my steps that day, asked around about the phone, of course no success.

Next day, I'm looking through my suitcase for something, and there's that damn phone. I had stuck in somewhere in the middle of my suitcase I guess in a rush to hide it on my way out.

So now the facts. Only money is missing, envelope in toilet.

Now the chica. I played dumb with her on the phone. Still texting her oh baby I miss you blah blah blah. Didn't see her the next day, but she was texting. Everyone telling me oh you will never see her, she's gone. She's knows you're here, and she'll be back in a month when she knows you're gone. She hit paydirt with you, that's like 8 months salary she just made. OK.

Day after I'm walking on the stroll, someone from behind yells 'oh papi!' turn around it's her running up to me to hug me.

She plays dumb, I play dumb. We continue as if nothing happened as my head spins.

Sure you were greatly negligent in being sloppy with your stuff and not knowing where shit was. But this incident warrants a public posting of ALL info, including photos of this chica.
