You can rent a car but they don't open untill 7am. I did this last August. I flew in with Jetblue @ about 4:30am, breazed thru customs just to wait 2 hours, with nothing to do, for them to open. It's ok, if you don't mind the wait...

Posts: 23Is it possible to rent a car at 2:15 am in Santiago when Jet Blue flights land? The fares are good and renting a car is the norm for me, but I don't want to be stuck at the air port until 8 or 9.
thanks to any one who can help me with this.

I wrote the reply you responded to in response to an earlier query ... and that post had looked at the photos and wanted to know where I met the girls.

Posts: 88Spirit Airlines "S" sale $320 US to SDQ
Greetings to all:
I just purchased a round trip ticket from Bos/Prov to SDQ for $320US online on Spirit's website. I was looking into flights to POP, but prices were at least 200-300 more. Other airlines flying into STI were arriving in the middle of the night. All of this was just too much hassle for me, so I'll return to BC.
I plan on staying in BocaChica to take in some scuba diving and the company of chicas. I know that the reports coming from there recently are poor, but others who have posted not too long ago have had good experiences. The girls couldn't have just vanished into thin air. I think that they are just underground a bit.
I was there last winter in Feb (after the crackdown) and had a very nice time. I don't care much for the nightlife. I prefer to hunt during the day, and set things up for that night. I may head into the capital this time, in an effort to expand my horizons.
Wish me luck, Sailor02

Caribe tours and Metro only work up until a certain time. Best bet would be to find a hotel in STI for the night (maybe find a pro for the night). First thing in the morning catch the 7am bus to Sosua. Bring a sweater or jcaket, the bus is freezing cold. Ride is smooth, on exiting walk away from the station and then pick up a cab a block away. (lower rates).

Posts: 88Best way from STI to Sosua?
Hello to all:
I would like to know the best way to get from STI to Sosua during the early morning hours.
The flight that I may take arrives in the middle of the night, and I'm wondering if a bus is available at that time.
I would also like to know the e-mail address for the hotel Europa. Their website doesn't list the address, only a direct link. I want to use a secondary e mail provider.
Thanks, Sailor02

Posts: 14BEWARE of Super Keno scam at DR casinos!
I had requested and received a bunch of very useful information re mongering in DR on this site. Armed with the knowledge gained here, I made my first trip recently. I'll provide a detailed report of my mongering activities at a later time, but in the interim I wanted to warn everyone on this site of a widespread scam running at a number of casinos across DR. There is a game called "Super Keno", which at times is also referred to as "Caribbean Keno", offered at a number of casinos across DR. This game is a complete scam. The entire game is rigged and is mostly likely controlled by mafia. There is no way to win at this game, and the "dealers" running this game are expert con artists. I got scammed big time at the "Tropical Casino" in Playa Dorada. Upon my return to the US, I investigated on the web and learned that this an old, well know scam that continues to work on tourists. Additional information about this scam can be found at superkenoscam dot com.
I realize that this is off topic for this site, but figured it could save some poor sucker like myself a bundle of money. Given the nature and purpose of my trip, all of my research was done on this site only, and I did not run into any information on this scam here, though it seems to be a common knowledge to a lot of people around the web. It will be good if the moderator can find a way to prominently display a scam alert against this game within the DR forum of this board.
