Brand new to the site and wanted to see if anyone has any advice.

So I am booking my very first trip over to the DR and was really interested in staying at Blackbeards. Of course, in the time between getting my flights and receiving the booking information, the room was taken for 3 of the 7 nights I have planned there. I plan on staying at Blackbeards for the days they have available but does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay on the other nights that may be similar or better?

I have made several trips to the DR, mostly Sosua, Cabarete, but also Santo Domingo. I am hoping to spend 3 weeks in the DR soon. In addition to the usual activities, I would like to mix in some wiling non pros, or very semi pros to spend a few days at a time with. I wondered what might be the best city, area for this. Any info appreciated.

I know of 0 people that have come back and said look at this suit I got made in DR. For that try Thailand, China, Peru, and Colombia.

Can you please help me decide between the Dominican Republic or Colombia? I'm planning a trip next year. I am not interested in beaches, but I wouldn't mind going to a seaside destination, as long as the mongering scene is good there. I will have a wingman, and he's willing to go wherever I choose.

Please, if possible, explain why one destination is better than the other.

Last question: How much money should I take for a 5 day trip? Which cities do you recommend? I was thinking Medellin or Santo Domingo.

Pending your reply about your Spanish and experience, I will offer the following. If your Spanish is poor, and your experience is nil, or very limited, I would suggest using one of the controlled venues in each country as your introduction. In the DR, that means BlackBeard's (BB) in Costambar, just west of Puerto Plata. In Colombia, that would be the "Mansion" in Medellin. Both offer controlled environments, with "pre-screened" girls, fixed prices, good security environment, etc. You can venture out occasionally to familiarize yourself with other areas for future use. You can check both on their respective threads. Also BB has a website you can view, and a monthly newsletter, with news, photos of girls, etc.

SD is the easiest, although if someone highly recommends a tailor somewhere else that might be helpful. I'd like to have a couple of suits made while I'm there, assuming the price is right. I advised him not to depend on a local girl for your survival. She has 2 or 3 kids and rarely are thier home up to American standards. I am coming the following week to SD. I am trying to choose which girl to spend my time with. The question is to be client or a friend with benefits. At my age this is a woderful problem to have.
