Now I know what you mean. Romanian girls are already coming back to Austria. Come June 15th it will be pretty easy and there will be more girls than clients, that's for sure unless the brothels will also open soon. Maybe borders between Germany, Austria and north-east Italy will open sooner than we expect. There are too many money involved, tourism and small / private investments are blood for these regions.

BUT sexual services are part of the deal, and it's a circle that can't run without one of the parts: men leave their country to "officially" spend a week-end of fun with friends, maybe for a match or a concert, or to invest some family money. They do that, but then they secretly go to a brothel. Without legal sex these men would choose another country? Very easily. On the other side Italy desperately needs german and austrian tourism, that has no sexual meaning.

Austria did very well with the containment, Germany seems to be, for some reasons, partially protected from the virus (better sanity?) and regions like Friuli and Veneto had hard times but now they seem to be out of the tunnel. But sex market isn't ready to start, and we don't know when it will be.

What are we going to do? We open borders but we don't oper brothels so there will be less reasons to spend time in Austria and Germany? We open just the biggest ones, like FKK? There will be no easy solution, but I feel that governments will take a cynical choice, because blocking sex would mean to block a big part of tourism and a relevant part of small investments.

First of all, right now, there is no reason to believe that brothels may not open on July 1st. Of course there is some reason to be afraid that they will extend the closure of brothels but today the law that is in place is until June 30th and not longer. There is even some light hope that we will see a relaxation and more openings than you think. They say that without actually saying it out loud but they say it, trust me. We are reading it every single day because we do not have any infections to speak of and practically nobody is dying of covid. Austria is also way better, numbers-wise, than Germany.

Be it as it may, July 1st is the day that we can generally regard as a possible opening day of brothels unless they never intended to open them this early. Yet again we have reason to believe that they want to open the sexclubs. We know for certain that the prostitution department wants to open the clubs and that they want the ladies to be tested and get their stamp into their health book. We know that because the police openly communicates it. There simply isn't an agreement made and they are waiting for numbers to stay solid as they are. With the opening of restaurants and bars and coffeebars and all other places of the food & drink industry, they want to observe the first 2 weeks and then make all kinds of decisions. And that is when we will probably learn a lot of what the future will bring. But today there is nothing that we know for sure regarding our greatest hobby.

We open just the biggest ones, like FKK

Why would they open the FKKs and not open smaller places which are way less dangerous if you believe in covid being a risk at all? No, in my opinion, everything opens at the same time or nothing opens. And if for some outrageous reason they discriminate against one form of brothel, it will rather be the FKKs. And if we are talking numbers. There are a few hundred brothels in Austria and approximately 10 FKKs. You think they will get away with opening them? I could be wrong but it's a stretch if you ask me.

And I also think that when they open the brothels there will be hardly any noise. They will simple open them and not talk because the less talk the less outrage from the people and that is what we need.

Fortunately, brothels are only a very small part of tourism, I think Vienna or Salzburg have many other interests than brothels which are risky playfield now.
