I can see the front door of Babylon from my temporary residence. Tonight, there were 3 uniformed police officers hanging around the main entrance as well as on the street corner. I concur, le Meridian is a great hotel. In Vienna mar 9th and it's my hotel of choice. Marriott nice as well but elevator is keyed and that can be a problem with visitors

I've never tried any of them so I can't recommend any specific place. But please do note that most pictures in the Asian ads are fake and AO (Alles Ohne = BBFS) can be found quite often at the Asian places, as well as in many other studios in Vienna. As far as hotels go, if you're ok with prices in the Intercontinental range I'd recommend the Le Meridien hotel. It's location is great, one block from the Opera House and also one block from one of the major metro stations (Karlsplatz). Rates at the Le Meridien get pretty insane during the summer but they're pretty reasonable now. The showers at this hotel are also great and a rare find when compared to many European hotels.

I stayed at the Intercontinental last year. Good value and clean. At the end of the main shopping street right across from the main train station. Not close to GT, but a reasonable cab rate. There are a few salons in walking distance and the main strip clubs just down the street.

Best part was all the bars along the street. Great people watching.
