Correction, you almost fet to skip Italy. But the distance is 118 km instead of 170 km. I didn't refister me for Italian highway driving at least. Do you even need that? I know Austria requires, but in Italy you pay per km you drive on the highways, so I assumed there was no need to pay double. No idea about Slovenia.

Apologies. Didn't read Pist's post in full. Agree completely. Andiamo and Marina well worth trying. (Andiamo is FKK, others not.) If using hire car (recommended) ensure it is cleared for Italy and Slovenia. Usually should be but be sure to check.

It is possible to skip Italy between Wellcum and marina. It takes 30 min longer to drive and the speed limit is lower, but the distance is shorter I think, so you both save the Italian autostrada toll and use less fuel per km. And the route is quite scenic.

I want to do a Austria FKK trip soon (it's the only major FKK country I haven't mongered in yet!) and Wellcum is high on my list but since I'll be using public transport as much as possible I'd like to know where do you guys stay overnight when you go to Wellcum? I want to try the following clubs: Wellcum, Babylon (either Wien or Klagenfurt) and Goldentime and possibly Maxim.

You can try to book a room directly in Wellcum (in my case it was fully booked) or stay in Arnoldstein. I stayed in Hotel Wallner, nice place, can recommend. 5 minute drive from Wellcum, 10 EUR taxi.

Without your own car, the connected Hotel is probably best; especially if you intend to visit for 2+ days. You will have used a taxi to get to the club; about 2.5 km from the local small town, Arnoldstein. In Arnoldstein, Gasthaus Wallner is a good choice.

However, frankly, with your trip outline, I'd suggest a hire car with GPS.

I have either slept in the car and been on the road between clubs so to speak, or taken in at hotel at Wellcum. They have rooms for visitors. Just got to book way in advance sometimes.

Don't know about the Babylon's or Maxim. I hear its expensive, but maybe you want to splurge. And I guess you don't know before you try. But if money matters, then why not get a rental car and try Marina in Slovenia and maybe also do Andiamo in Villach? Then its 4 FKK's (GT Vienna and wellcum included).
