Having already visited Amsterdam a couple of times, I didn't have high hopes that Brussels would compare very well.
There's no question that the Brussels RLD is smaller and therefore a lot less varied than Amsterdam. But what Brussels lacks in quantity, it definitely makes up for in quality.

Quantity and quality of RLD options can vary a lot from one locality to another and even at the same locality. The only time that I ever set about mongering in Brussels was perhaps four years ago. I had landed after flying in overnight, and after a day's meeting, was driving to the City Center in search of a room, having only a vague conception but no definite plan get action, as my original plan was to drive to Germany, that night.
