When you look at this thread, there are only a handful of experiences with specifics. Here is one to help provide some specific details to those who have no idea where to start. That was pretty much my situation in any case.

I took the advice of earlier posts and checked out www.alo.bg And came across http://www.alo.bg/1437326 For Nika. I've cut and pasted the translation from her advert since I know that most of you will be too lazy to check it yourself and it states:-

As a result of the time of the day that I arrived in Sofia, it wasn't possible for me to go out and by a local SIM card. I did try getting one at the airport but there were no outlets that were selling them. I sent an SMS to Nika to see if we could line up an appointment and she responded and was quite happy to negotiate the appointments through SMS alone. Works our far cheaper than an international roaming telephone call to cover the same detail. She works from a discreet quiet apartment block in central Sofia. A less than 5 lev taxi ride from just about anywhere in central Sofia.

The apartment is one that she rents for this business as an independent. She likes to finish up by 8pm and go home to her home somewhere else. She was very accommodating and allowed me to make an appointment for 7:30 pm. Her pictures are definitely her but probably a little flattering. Slightly pear shaped body type. She spoke reasonable English and enough to have a decent conversation. Her price was 60 Lev for standard but if you wanted the expanded menu, it was 80 lev which is very reasonably priced. She was apologetic that she does not do DFK which she described as 'making love'. Having heard all these attitudinal issues being raised, Nika was definitely an eager to please provider who truly delivered on what she said she was going to do. After I had my shower, she called a cab for me and it had arrived literally as I was stepping out of her door.

Total damage 80 lev plus 5+5 for taxi fares to and from my hotel.

If you want a girl friendly hotel, the hotel Anel. 5 stars, cost less than 100 euros a night, is girl friendly. There is also 4 X chanels on TV for free. IMHO a good hotel.

I always had the same experience with girls from alo. Bg, no GFE at all, no english, no communication, bored attitude, and I usually try to be kind with them. It s an easy option, you call, they are in your room 30 minutes later and it is not expensive, but it won't be the experience of your life.

Kama sutra is a nice strip club and as you can pick up de girl to your hotel, you can check the english level and chimistry. But it is more expensive of course, all in all.

Massage saloon are nice, I like it very much, but they all close early (8. 00 PM).

Bulgarian girls are less stunning than in bucarest IMHO.

I've been traveling to Sofia for around 3 years on a regular basis and thought it was about time I shared some of the local knowledge I've built up.

Some general tips.

Some hotels do try to charge to take a girl to your room, but trick here is simply walk in as bold as brass and straight to the lift and chances are the girl will not get stopped. Ask them to come dressed conservatively to maximize your chances here. Alternatively go up to your room and get the girl to walk in after you. As long as she's reasonably dressed she will get in without any hassle in my experience.

The girl on the phone is possibly not the girl you will meet. Ask! Sometimes I ask them something about what they are wearing in their photos on the net to see if they are really an independent. Don't be fobbed off with assurances that the girl speaks good English, reserve the right to send her back if she does not.

Don't take girls the bell boy or the taxi driver offers you. They won't be cheap and its probably some street girl they picked up from behind the main railway station.

Best strip bars are Karma Sutra and Cleopatra's, I would not recommend any others. Here you should find a nice girl let her give you a lap dance (leva 20) and ask her towards the end of that if she offers any other services. About 50% do. This is safe and easy but a bit more expensive. Whatever you pay though the girl will probably only get half of that with the rest to the club. Met some great girls this way and you can check their English and personality a bit before you take them out. They will watch the clock though and try to get back to the club as soon as they can. If they ask you to buy them a drink make sure you are not paying a huge price before you agree and only do that if you just want the company or have already agreed to have fun after. Sometimes I just say that we can have a drink at mine and that I will still make it worth their while. Remember the girl probably only gets a fraction of drink price.

I've picked up regular girls in other clubs for fun (and I'm no looker) and sometimes scored on a first night out. These types of girls don't want payment but do appreciate being taken out and spoiling a little. Often just a good meal and a club is enough but sometimes take them out and buy them a new coat or some boots the following day. Go to a regular night club or bar for this and not a Chalga club. In a Chalga club you will probably be letching after some Mafia guys girl!

Bulgarians are very bad at time keeping, so if you are on a time limit make sure you make that very clear. Expect an agency girl to be late by 30 minutes or more, every time. Independents are a little better. If you don't want to be up half the night then set a latest time deadline.

Sometimes I deliberately overpay the taxi (on arrival fee) but only if directly to the girl. I usually say the larger amount will cover the taxi back and a little extra for the girl. Seems to have got me much better service in the past!

Always be nice and polite to the girls. They love it and are not used to it. Bulgarian men can be generally rude, arrogant and selfish with the ladies. I guarantee that if you are not it will pay dividends.

Expect to pay about Leva 100 an hour for a good independent or agency girl. Some of my best experiences have been around the Leva 60-80 mark though for true independents. Never book a girl for only an hour IMHO, always two minimum. Trust me its worth taking a bit of time.

Two girls can be fun but they usually just drink all your alcohol and mess around to much. Better to meet a girl once and then again with "a friend" at a later stage. That way at least two of you know what to expect from the meeting.

Bulgarian girls smoke loads and loads, so if you don't like this ask before you meet them.

Finally Red bull (AKA fanny fuel) is a must. They all seem to drink it!

These are the web sites I use or have used:-

That will allow you to narrow down your search to girls in Sofia (or where ever) , have an apartment or visit hotels, speak English (or whatever language your looking for) and narrow down the girls further by services you may be looking for. Nearly all the girls on here seem to be independent, which in my experience equates to more relaxed (once they realize your not a potential axe murder) , easy going, and less rushed meeting. I've even had experiences where we have had so much fun they have stayed the night whilst only being paid for say 3 hours. Was in Sofia the week of November 3 and tried to sample some of the local ladies from http://www.alo.bg Website. Overall the experience was ok but comparing to some other venues in Europe, I think Sofia does not rate as a mongering destination.

On my first day of arrival in Sofia, I called the lady advertising at this address, (http://www.alo.bg/1288066). She arrived on time at my hotel room and that is when I found out my hotel (Grand Sofia) charges 30 Euros for a lady visitor. Bummer. She said her name was Chrissy and her body was like in the picture. Would say face was 5, body 7 and performance a 5. She asked for 100 Levs for all covered service (CBJ). Also she asked for 20 Levs taxi fare. I gave her 50 Levs and she didn't give me back change. Her English was very poor. Also she asked for 50 Levs extra for BBBJ. With condom on it was difficult for me to get hard even though she tried her best. No kissing, DFK or huggin what so ever. Very mechanical. I landed in Sofia Saturday afternoon, checked in, and immediately started calling escorts off this website: http://m.alo.bg/search/?cat_id=11&subcat_id=534

The site lists the girls number in their profiles. I had to call several before I connected with one sort of spoke English. In time she replied through text with her address which I showed to a taxi driver. An hour later I was at her place. There were two girls in the flat. One was with a customer.
