I just took a walk between 1830 and 1930 after dark. Absolutely nothing. I'll do another check a little later but I don't have high hopes based on the Sofia reports.

As promised I took a walk a little later. Firstly, you may see random girls hanging out for a bit but I was unclear whether they were WGs or not. Those girls don't make their intent known but the setup makes them seem like they could be WGs. I'm at least happy to say that I found 2 WGs just down from the Lion Hotel around 2100. They were both able to communicate in English. Probably in mid-late 30's but really not bad considering the circumstances. One was actually very nice and friendly and rather polite. Both quoted 100 Leva (50) and one said an extra 20 Leva for the hotel. The other didn't specify a hotel cost but said she can come to my room or I can go to her hotel. To be honest, either was acceptable to me considering the reports of how dead the place is. Also to say, when it comes to mongering I am not a racist. A pretty Roma girl is fine by me. I couldn't tell if these were Roma as neither looked obviously so, except for a little darker skin which I observed in many Bulgarians. In the end I chose neither. Clearly there is an element of risk involved in going to a hotel recommended by a WG. Although these girls were acceptable, they weren't good enough for me to disable my safeguards. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. Pretty girls make you do dumb things.

That being said I spent today doing some reconnaissance on other potential areas. I'll do some after dark surveillance and let you know what I find.

I spent 8 days here, (leaving tomorrow) - saw nothing. Wanted to hit a few strip clubs, but no good info on which were 'safe' - so skipped them all, and just found a home-bar to get drunk in each night.

Only action possibility was a 40-something gypsy that approached me on the main drag tonight after midnight. Not sure what she was saying, but it would have been akin to sleeping with a homeless woman. Also, one gypsy 19 yo type girl that walked up and down the strip each night.

In terms of finding non pro girls. Good luck. There are so many 'desperate' men here (like much of Balkans) that stare mercilessly at girls that they have developed effective force-fields. What chance do you have a tourist without the language. Against all the guys here.

Traveling with my Thai GF who is rather young / hot. And the men are dogs here. Whenever I turn my back, or she goes out a lone, they're trying to hit on her, following her for blocks etc. She literally had to run from two guys down the street and finally seek shelter in a restaurant.

The only place to find a working girl is somewhere like Hotel Marenella, but they are essentially golddiggers looking for their next mafia boyfriend, or asking a taxi driver at the Inter Continental (they used to hang out the front in Audis). As said, the scene is hidden. Sofia is basically a small villiage and everyone knows what everyone is doing. Most working girls go on 'holiday' for a few weeks at a time and come back with cash, before going back to their part time job. Abroad they are anon.

That's the holy truth. Sofia, regardless of some 1,5 M people is small village (as said there malo selo) and some or certain circles of people knows quite well what-how about other they know or heard of them. Lot of times I discovered that a group of girl friends bang around as non-pro / part-time WG's, especially with strangers, either short stay visitors or ones living there.

But again, you and me says the same: it is not so easy to find that scene, but the WG scene is very alive.

I lived there for a number of years, and yes there is a scene, but it's not really accessable for someone who's just passing through.

Indeed, for someone who is just "passing through" or is in the city for few days is quite impossible to access to those girls. Except with a lot of luck if happens to stumble upon WG or semi-pro's (happened to me in Hilton lobby bar, also in Sense hotel in Roof Bar, Marinella hotel is well known spot for all types of WG.).

Just took a walk by Lions Bridge in the afternoon. Took all four streets up for about 2 blocks each. A little grotty in places, but def. No SW's or gypsy anyplace that I saw.

On one corner is the small Peepshow place. Sign says it's open from 23:00 - 05:00. Looks tiny, not sure what that's all about, but made for some good photos.

Also had some great Turkish food. Kaymak clotted cream, bagel simit and honey. Every bit as good as Istanbul.

Hunted around for the Maroc place. Small door with purple and blue sign above. Didn't spot it, tho did find one 'Non stop' place nearby (door locked).

If there are gypsy's around (in daytime) I fear they've glued themselves underneath the bridge, or in the tops of trees. Cause I sure didn't see them. Maybe at night.

Having been to 120+ countries there have indeed been some dire, and dry scenes where I did give up. However, after combing through ISG and other boards it appeared in terms of strip clubs there were a few (very few).

Kama Sutra, Cleopatra, Vevet, or something called the 'peepshow bar'?

Just some earlier quotes from ISG:

- I've often had great times at places like Velvet and Cleopatra, very reasonable prices too for girls and drinks and no pressure. That was pre covid though so dunno if they have reopened.

- I go to the strip clubs in Sofia quite regularly and I would say Kamasutra is probably the better choice. I have never seen any clubs refusing couples / females. I have gone with a few of my female friends to most of the clubs here.

The girl sitting with me said 'madam' sex and I asked how much. It turned out to be 60 lev. She brought me next door.

Some of these are older, I was hoping for UPDATED information on which of the 3 above were fully nude, or still offered a reasonable time without a ripoff. For show only (no sex).

Simply being told Sofia doesn't have that scene, really doesn't help. If all of them have now turned into rip-off bars, so be it.

Especially best / top girls don't advertise at all. They just don't need to, and the things are handled primarily by personal recommendation (many of them are not pro WG's, I. I was talking about streets and clubs and really didn't know about contacts. You seem to know better than me and that's great. There are some beauties in Bulgaria so next time I visit relatives, I'll have to try and follow your advice. Too old to land one like when I was young and to tell you the truth, I've met a couple fine gals in our town who I think may have been in the game but they were daughters of my cousin's friends. I guess we do agree on the clubs and gypsies on the streets and highways even though some of the gypsies dress hot and trashy and get me excited but growing up with BG attitude they are to be avoided. Thanks for the info, I'm glad to hear this so I will have an option. My relatives are all married so they don't know or need services.
