I managed to get to Sophia last weekend. The info I received from this forum proved to be correct. I stayed at the Radisson SAS which is nicely located within the city. If you could find a reliable taxi, that would be the way to go, or to "order in" if your situation permitted it. You could probably get the apartment to get you a taxi, if you could make yourself understood.
