Damn, bolt guy probably did a bait and switch. Usually bolt is pretty safe cause these drivers don't want to mess up their monthly income for 1 day of few extra thousands. I have been using bolt everywhere so far, only precaution I take is that I don't book bolt exactly to / from infamous mongering spot and walk for few meters.

Good advice for all of us to follow, DwayneJohnson. I am quite familiar with public transportation, but I do rely on a Bolt ride from time to time. I also do not make it obvious that I am visiting an infamous mongering spot. I usually find a nearby restaurant to be my pickup and drop-off spot. That evening went out drinking got a bit drunk in town centre though not too much. About 2 am called Bolt which is a local taxi app. Taxi turns up I get in and there are two guys in the front. They unlocked the door I got out thinking I could fight one of them but not both and who knows what weapons they have. As soon as I got l out of the car I started screaming for help on this quiet Street. They got alarmed rushed back in and drove off. I walked a bit and found my hotel. Sons of bitches. I checked my original bolt request it said it waited and I didn't turn up and still charged the minimum fare of 50. Not true. I was there as soon as I ordered the car. I think the bolt driver works with these guys. So be careful with this scam. I don't think I'm the first person to have got into this trap.
