This really belongs in some type of general topic forum but since ISG doesn't have one I'll ask here: What reasons or excuses do you give to go somewhere to monger?

Obviously the 1st time you go it can be for tourism. But if you want to go again and again what do you experienced gentlemen say?

For example, I had no prob with telling people I went to Costa Rica and Prague.
A few close friends know what I went to do. But my family /social circle thought it was for tourism. If I go back to Prague again soon, which I'd like to, I need to start working on what to say.

My job situation is I am currently unemployed ( I voluntarily left teaching).

My living situation is I live in my grandmother's apartment (not WITH her mind you, she stays with my parents. I'm taking advantage of the fact she has a rent-control apartment in NYC where the rent is so low its almost criminal. God bless socialist laws of the 1960's Lol ).

So of necessity I am close to my parents and grandmother. We talk on a daily basis and they know me quite well.

I am also a shitty liar. So, what do you gentlemen do? I am open to suggestions.
